this is a bit of a step up in my digital painting. I used a couple of reference photos which really helped. comments and crits please! (and yes, I know he has no neck. it's meant to be like that. really it is... )

It has some problems, but in my opinion it's pretty good.

To start with, even if he has no neck, that's a really flat head. Whatever might have happened to him, i don't think that can flatten his head that much. Also about the hand, i think the thumb looks a little to long. Maybe the pectoral muscles could be a little lower.

And the painting is well done too, but some problems here too. The outline is a little sloppy at some places and i think i see some weird lightning at some places, like the helmet.

Other than that, well done, you're better than me.

Hey, I think you have some lighting problems in your painting. Some anatomy issues also. Maybe use a reference? Also, obsidian breaks easily, so it wouldn't make a good weapon, but thats not really a crit, just a useless fact.

Have you figured out how to do scales yet? He is a lizard man correct, why doesn't he ahve a trace of scaleg on his body? I agree with Skalle his pecs should be a little lower. But in all I think that it's cool idea.

P.S. I think the head fits perfectly for the lizerd man idea:rock: :chug:

thanks. yeah its based heavily on a reference- like the body is exactly the same :p so i guess some peoples' pecs are a little higher than others. as for scales... well.. there are lizard men and then there are lizard men...

Obsidian would make a good weapon, it's extremely sharp. It flakes like flint and was used to hunt with by a variety of indigenous people - check out this link (http://archaeology.la.asu.edu/teo/fsp/Offer/ofobbifa.htm)

If you redid your lighting and gave your character more of a neck it would really help this piece out.
