You're off to a decent start, but some of those pictures are needlessly huge.

Hey, nice start for your sketchbook! I like your imagination and that apple study is coming along quite well. :) Keep those up. For the pages with anime-esque heads, I would suggest filling them up with some studies or other things, just to make the most/best use of the space.

Also, FightingSeraph was right about the image sizes. Maybe scale them down a little to prevent side scrolling too much for the ones with a lot of emptiness.

Keep drawing!

You're off to a good start :) I'd suggest getting books by Bridgeman and Loomis for anatomy, and do lots of life paintings...just try and draw everything :) Really, although it might not feel like it, you're in the most exciting part of being an artist at the moment. You have so many different studies to try and so many different areas of art that you have yet to explore that really, you'll look back on these days and miss them. Ironic isn't it? All I can say is work hard and remember to have lots of fun, as that's what will keep you going ;) If you ever need help or something PM me, the beginning is the hardest part from what I remember :P Keep it up!

woah, wasn't expecting any comments. Thanks guys =) Sorry about the size, I use Sketch Book Pro and that's the default size of the canvas. Ill try and do some shrinking. =b

Here are some more.

Just did this today. I really like it but I have almost 0 imagination when it comes to clothing and stuff. I have the hardest time with that. Its funny, some one can give me the idea and I can pretty much go from there.

Sorry for the hugeness! I work on a 20" monitor
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v697/Silent0080/femalesketch1.jpg

Also Im pretty much done with this.

Its called "Pocket God"

Haha, a 20" monitor would explain it. :) For the first new post, the ear is a bit too high up on the head and far away, so try to do some head or face studies to help with that. As for the second image, very interesting light source.. I still have problems with rendering, but I think I'll say don't be afraid to push your darks! Keep experimenting and posting.

yea im still learning all of the rendering as far as lights and darks go. I guess my main issue is not getting the contrast between the two high enough.

Ok, time to concentrate on the figure. Im going to make sure, or try to make sure, that I post a new pose in here every day. From clean lines to just quick sketches. I need a ton of practice, so its time to make this a habit to the point where I can whip anything up in no time at all with little or no reference.

Starting today! Here we go.

Ive had an epiphany and its time to take my abilities more serious. I met some people that are very inspiring and I now strive to be better. Also looking at someone else sketch book inspired my drive even more.

So here we go.

this one is in pencil and ink. I messed up in a few spots, so there are some weird shadows that shouldn't be there.

Wow those last few life studies are amazing, you're really starting to get the hang of tonal contrast and where light flows. It's a hard thing but it get easier the more you do it.

Also don't be afraid to use your own body as a reference, when I draw hands and arms I measure them on them against the other parts of my body to check that everything is in proportion. Eg, if you put your hand on your face it is about the same size, and if you have you hands at your sides your arms will reach where your pockets are. Keep little things like that in mind and proportion will become a easy as pie. :D

Great work keep it up!

These are good, but I think when it comes to tones and relation to that it would be best to do more life studies of still objects. Doing those will get you surprisingly far.

I don't think I need to do anymore still life. I've been doing that stuff for a long time now. Here is some of my work of still life.

The problem I have is that I am just entering the stage of life drawing and I'm trying to get better at that now, which is why my stuff doesn't look any better than "good", but I will say that I have improved a ton since i started.

Practicing with values first then coloring. Not sure if there is a better way do color over the values. I used an overlay layer. Any suggestions to how to color in over values, let me know. Also, yea the eyes are too big in this one, i just havent uploaded the newest version.

Hi Havok

Hope to see some more stuff in here. If I could offer an opinion on the latest WIP? It's a bit ate now, I can see what you were doing with wanting to space the legs out to give her a firm stance, but the angle of the further foot still strikes me as being a bit off-balanced.

Hope you show your sketchbook some more love soon!
