My first impression was too shiny. I imagined dwarfs as more dirty with less impressive armor. That is hero's armor. Also, most traditional dwarves have oversized heads as opposed to oversized bodies. He is just too dang big to be a dwarf. ;)

And dwarves can't be heros? =P

Evidently Jaku and the company he did this for have a different concept of dwarves than you.

You don't have to follow the precepts of traditional you know?

Nicely done Jaku.
Nitpicks: The pose is very static and the feet seem to be on two different angles...

The basic idea for our dwarves is that they have wide shoulders.
The idea of a hero or king armour was mine. There are also more traditional ones....

Thanks toaster for the ¿nitpick? (i don´t know what it means). I´ve to find a method to solve those fails before is too late....

Nice illustration, I like the color job you’ve done. I especially like the chest design on the amour. My crit is I think the proportions are a bit off, even for a dwarf. His upper body looks to long for his lower half. I know he's a dwarf, but dwarfs are still in proportion. My suggestion would be to shorten the body just a bit, and shorten his arms. One last thing, his legs don’t look stout enough. He looks like one of those really big body builders who just work upper body and never his legs. Well these are only my opinions and suggestions.

i agree with most of these crits so far.. its cool that you're trying something new with a dwarf character (bucking the trend of dirty armor and what not) but if you outline where his body would be under all the armour, his skeleton is very human-like.. but i do love the rendering of the metal and the design of the armour.

in my oppinion to make him allil more dwarf like make his hipps wider and bigger that way u dont have to shrink every thing elses and by the way this is a dwarf CONCEPT meaning ur own version

Kinda looks like a dwarf that is "swimming" in his armor. It looks almost like a small dwarf in big heavy armor who is unable to move because of the bulk of said armor. Mainly I feel the shoulders as being too large, too elongated. Not bad though. :)

If he were one head shorter I don't think that would hurt none either.

Good concept and I agree with previous comments about being too tall for a dwarf (even though you might have a different take on what a dwarf is). The dude does seem to get a little lost in his armour.

well, i don't think it is finished. The hands especially...But looks nice for a concept. and maybe give some perspective to the background and thats it...

Nice armor, the design on the breast plate rocks, and the scale armor on the shoulders is a little overdone but who cares right.
