Ok guys and ladies here it is The UNofficial Ventrilo
As you probably already know the Official Ventrilo is down for some reason and because the CA (I think) or the person in charge for the Vent server have online teaching classes to take care of first, it will take some time until the Official Ventrilo server will be up and running again.
I pulled some strings and got a stable vent server from a buddy that is being used as a chatroom for gamers... yeah I know... gamers --> :lounge:... small, smelly creatures that can't take a no for an answere.
Ok ok I maybe overexaggerated a bit, but still... they can be annoying especially the small ones.
Sorry for my poor swedish humor... Anyway to the good part
Here is the info you need to get the wheels spinning:
You need to run a old version of ventrilo..... yes I said the old version of ventrilo.
This is due to that one of the old versions of the vent server can handle a much larger amount of people than the new versions.
*** So you need to have Ventrilo Client 2.1.4 and fortunally I have one for you here (http://www.pisk.org/download/ventrilo/ventrilo_client-2.1.4-Windows-i386.exe) so you won't need to search the entire internet to find one. This is the Windows version.
*** The first thing you need to do after you have installed version 2.1.4 are to going to Setup->Global-->turn off the "Check for new version" [Now you will get rid off the annoying window that says there is a new version etc.]

Done?... ok, now what you will need to do is to connect to the server.
There will be 5 Main Channels [Info, VIP, Chit Chat, Sponsored members and public rooms],
Go into the "Sponsored Memebers Channel... Find the Channel named "ConceptArt"
You need a password to get in there - to get this pass you just need to PM me, this is just to minimize all the trolls that maybe will try to get in to the vent channel.
One last thing - because there are so many channels at this Vent server you can disable the Auto expand setting (Go to Setup-->Misc--> uncheck the "Auto Expand all channels when connecting", this will take care of the problem)
Back at the main window Rightclick the "Sponsored Members" Channel and click Display-->Expand and you will just expand that area, then to the usual stuff, dubble click the ConceptArt Channel and type in the password.
If you just dubbleclick the "Sponsored Members" Channel you will face a window that asks you for a password and you will not get further, because you don't have the password to that specific channel.
OK this is the last thing, this server will handle Maximum 200 ssers what I'm aware of so there can be sometimes you are the unlucky person to be the one that is the 201:th user or more, the only cure for this is to wait and try again later and see of you can get a empty spot.
