Hi, my name is Simon, im an amature artist goin on and off with photoshop for about 1,5 years now.
I have a question, I have Photoshop cs3, and I lost all my brushes that I made for it, was about 100 or so, I left my pc on during the night then when I woke up it had shut down for some reason, donno why tho, so I started up photoshop again after reboot and I lost all my brushes, this really made me scared, do I have to remake all the brushes I made or are they stored someplace?
I could not find anything on the forum I searched like crazy, so if anyone know anything then I would be most greatfull :)

program files > adobe > photoshop > presets > brushes is the location of the .abr files, or where they should be.
you can always load the brushes back into your brush selection menu- do you know how to do that?

^If they aren't in the folder bizarre stated, try to make a new brush and save it out. When you do, you can check to see where you have been saving your brushes if you have been saving them into a different folder that maybe you forgot you did(aka the file extension).

I checked what you two, said and they are gone, I never saved them into a file so I guess ill have to make new ones, but with this info i can make sure it never happens again cus ill save the brushes into one file or more, didnt do that before just left them in the photoshop brush menu, never actually clicked "Save Brushes", so Thanks guys :D

C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Application Data as well. Not sure why but even with painter they get copied and stored here but you have to shut down Photoshop in order for your workspace to be saved...sorry but they might be gone for good. Next time you should even save the grayscale images that you make into brushes as jpegs somewhere in case you want to share them or reuse them.

I believe the reason why you'll find your preferences in the Application Data folder instead is because of different user profiles on the computer.
