Cannot Load Variant???

Hi,

I'm a newbie to Painter and I have encountered a problem. When I use one brush (ie. airbrush/digital airbrush) and then move on to another brush and then return, the digital airbrush is disabled with the following statement:

Cannot load variant. The pluggin brush associated with this variant is not loaded.

Basically, I have no idea what this means.

Any suggestions?

Hi Dan,

If you're using Painter 8, go to the Brush Selector menu and choose Restore All Default Variants, then click the OK button.

This should delete all cached brush variants (brush variants for which the .XML brush variant file name is preceded by c_ ).

Cached brush variants contain all brush variant information plus any temporary setting adjustments made by the user. When they're deleted, Painter uses the default .XML brush variant just as it was when Painter was installed.

Now load that brush library again and your brush variants should all be available.
