Hello everybody, i'm new to this forum!

Just a short introduction:
I am a guy who lives in sweden, and i'm 13 years old. I like art and drawing very much, i have been drawing since i was small, and i'm the best at drawing in my class. However, i want to be even better, so i joined here.

Now about the picture:

It's some kind of aztec warrior. I know the anatomy might be off at some places, but i hope you like it. Also, there's some weird colors at different places because of the images compression and my scanner. I'm thinking about trying to color this digitally, i don't know that much about that yet, but i will. Just tell me what you think of it and what could be better. Thanks.

do a few new thumbnail sketches of it.. dont worry about getting off track u can clean it up in photoshop or watever program ur using.. once u get proportion n size done with a quick sketch u can go over it with colors.. use layers for ur first one and u can color it again to see if u can get it better
u dont gotta use layers if u want tho

Hi there!
I've seen your picture, and I think before you even start painting digitally, you need to get better at drawing anatomy. The perspective on the warrior's hands is wrong, the proportions are not very good in general, head is too big.. etc Practice drawing the human figure, and also learn its right lengths in terms of head units.
Sorry if I'm not too helpful, perhaps someone more experienced than me can give better tips...

Thanks for your comments you're very helpful.
You're right, i always tend to draw to big heads at my characters, bad habit. Once i get rid of it it'll get better. I also know that the arms and hands aren't all correct.

Thanks for your comments.

I have to agree with Cadence on this one.

Practice anatomy first. Practice, Practice, Practice.

Draw stick figures and numerous sketches of the pose before you start the final image. Get a friend to pose for you.

Perhaps you should buy one of those artists wooden 'manikins', they aren't perfect but they are basically the correct porportions of the average person.
Grab one, pose it, sketch it, move it, draw it again until you find a good basic sketch/pose from which to start your drawing.

Get the larger basic shapes correct before you add the details.

This isn't an attack, when I was 13 my drawings were complete crap. You are better than I was then. You have alot of potential, just practice.

Thanks! Why didn't i think of that? Good thing you said that, i've bought one now. Now i'll try drawing some more correct anatomy and dynamic poses.

Cool, go for it.

Post some more images I would like to see them.
I am in no means an expert, but I have been to an art school (years ago) and do constantly draw - sometimes they even turn out good.

Once I yet some old, crappy sketch book images ready I'll post them.

Have you ever tried to draw Conan ( a personal favourite of mine)?
