Hello! My name is Erika, 17, andd... I dunno really what else to say.
OK, here goes:
Just taking art as a hobby and even though I don't really have any seriously considerable artworks I think I have lurked around enough and packed up some courage to post some of my simpler drawings/paintigs. Critique highly encouraged.

ooooo ... sweet colours Bunneh ... love the pants, those stripes always work. For guys and girls.
The Cat looks (they both look like cats) are sweet. Was it intentional?
Simple and sweet.

I'm super iffy about anatomy on this one. It's not finished and I don't intend to.

You have a nice style. I like the looseness of the lines in the third picture. I'd like to see more. :)

Looks good so far and I'd like to see more too. But watch the proportions and try to use less lines but without showing less. I hope you understand what I mean:P Anyway, this is a good start and you should keep this up!

Thanks! dwardo, Izer, vayne108, cup_of_Tea?.

GunTrouver: Thanks. Will keep that in mind though easier said than done but who said it's supposed to be easy.=)
_________________________________________

Sometimes I get angry at myself for how little I draw. I spend a lot of time preparing mentally but haven't got much to show for it.

First up is just some head I thought looked nice. Next is a pretty old wip that I intend to finish one day. Maybe redo it a bit, but the idea should remain the same. And last is a picture I'm currently working on. I'm cursing myself for not making the dimensions big enough, would like to do some detail work on it.

If I get my scanner back or bother to shop for some batteries for my cam I might pick some pearls from my sketchbook, too.

edit:attachments didn't show first time

I like the picture from the second update. It's great how you use lines and colours there.

And I think, you don't have to be angry at yourself. If you don't like to draw more, there's no sense to push yorself to do more, because there's the risk that the pictures became boring and look loveless.
I like it to see that you think about your works before you start. Your ideas look interesting and you have nice characters

Oh no no, I actually really love to draw, just haven't been able to get ahold of that rope to pull me in again. Thanks though-

So in the end I bought some batteries. A bit different stuff this time. The door is visible from my school cafeteria window, the riverside sketch was probably a bad idea because it started raining and blotched my sketchbook a bit and the figures were the result of trying some crayon stuff in Painter Essentials. Since my anatomical knowledge is very poor then they're probably wrong but fun to do anyway.

Oh you have such an interessting style. Just go on with drawing, you have enough time, maybe some day you can encourage yourself to make more out of it. Don't try to force you. I guess such thinks have to develope. Three years ago (as I was seventeen) I had a lots of troubles with everything possible - I could hardly draw/paint, though I love it more then anything else. I'm very keen how you will progress.

I have a 15yr old stepniece who draws like whoa (especially animals) so I don't think age is necessarily an indicator of skill although the likelihood of being good probably increases with age. Thanks for the kind words of encouragement though =).

I wanted to try out smth very different after browsing around here for a while and seeing devuser leventep's process video. A piece of many firsts: first photo based pic, first warp, first water (reflection) and first digital try at scenery.

Can you see it?

You're right bunneh! But age has something to do with life and personal developement and maybe puberty. I realy do not think I know it all, these are only my experiences. I needes time to find out what I wanted/want^^.

Room renovation is Over! Well almost, still some minor tweakings and furniture to set to its' assigned places (most of it is still missing, too) but I moved back in yesterday.

This is what it used to look like. Nothing wrong with it but I think I'd had enough of the yellow.

The whole project took me two months which is about three times as long as I initially planned. This of course includes procrastination galore and health issues but the biggest setback came when I discovered the condition the wall was in under the wallpaper. I was prepared to do some filler work but not full out entire surface area filler+sand repeat twice cycle. I could've avoided a lot of hassle with it if I'd had previous experience but I guess it was good practice. I can fix walls like no tomorrow now.

This is what it looks like now. The floor is the same and the ceiling just got a new coat of white.

The colours themselves are of rather similar tones and I wanted to play on the shine to make a difference. Depending on time, angle of view and light colour/direction the pattern looks different, sometimes almost nonexistent. I was pretty scared as the general rule of theory says that non-waterbased paint (in this case varnish) cannot be painted on waterbased paint because it would repel it but didn't have any problems with that.

Muig. So I ran around a corner play chasing and somehow hit my right hand at the corner. I fractured it a bit. Nothing too serious, they're taking the cast off in a few weeks but as it was yesterday it still hurts pretty bad, I'm quite numb on painkillers atm.

So just for kicks tried drawing with my left...hahahahaaa. +I was too hazy to take the drawing in as a whole so it's horribly disproportioned above everything else. I showed this to my mom and she said it was the greatest masterpiece I've yet done hahahaaa.
