Thank you soooo much! Sorry, I don't think that I can do studies, it's too cool for my limited skills, because every time I want to do something beautiful, but in the end it looks like studies :) No, I mean 2009. It started when my relatives made me a present graph tablet. For now it's just Genius G-Pen 560, but i used to it already ) I don't know, it's hard to make myself to use pencil now, when all i need to do is just open photoshop ;)

Hello mate and welcome to CA
Your works are telling that you have trained a lot of your artistic skills.Btw try using less black in shadows, because black makes it dull in the end.(if a warm light is hitting your object then its not that bad to use some black with low opacity or multiply,to make cold shadows,because black makes it a little colder)
Keep making them less rough with cleaner lines etc.
And i would like to see some pencil work as well :D

Your pieces are very creative and imaginative - something that I have found to be far more difficult to attain than simply being able to render something accurately. Your technical skills definitely need polishing and practice, but one day, you're going to be a fantastic artist. I'm absolutely sure of it.

Khalo - thank you for your compliment. I allways thought my painting were not so creative at all, because of a boring angles and low dynamics :(. There are many examples that inspire to work, work and work and push yourself to get better results. It's a secret, but I was soooo inspired by DA gallery of Marek Okon )) And now I believe that everything is possible )

I agree with Khalo - you have a wonderful imagination , a good sense of story telling and good control over pencils. I think studies will definitely help you improve your skills ; study everything; the more , the better : perspective, anatomy , colour theory if you will , but I am sure that with studies you will be brilliant in no time :)

For a long time, all the 6 months that I do digipainting, I tryed to find the way to draw that will be of the most usefulness to me. Looked so many times at leventes works, and than Andree Wallin's works, and Randis, Dylan Cole and all the monster-guys on the net. Always was king of lost looking at all the variety of drawing styles. I think that in half a year from now I'll finally find the most consistent for me to use. Ah.. bla bla bla. The things you need to work at foremost are anatomy, and I would start loosing some colour for the beginning. Later on when you have anatomy and value pretty mcuh down colour will be important. For now more basics. It's nice to see so much stuff though.

Damn, I screwed up again, since started with one painting in mind, and finished with another, so it all look bad. Lighting completely out of synch with light sources, and all the damn stuff is bad. Next one will be better. Oh well =(

Finished Batman Arkham Asylum yesterday and finally I can continue with my painting =) BTW, the game is just sooo cool, game designers, artists, modelers, animators and all other guys made this UE3 driven (and it looks good great and runs ridiculously fast at 1920x1200) stuff very cinematic and fun. Just have to share my excitement with someone or something ^_^

just a suggestion, you should draw human anatomy more, full body. sketches would be alright, no need to color. Go to public places, sit down and draw from observation, so your human drawings wouldn't look stiff. put he the tablet down for a week.

I think reading a few books about landscape drawing would be nice too.

Thank you very much, Steve! I wanted to draw a little crazier character than in the movie, because I really enjoyed Tim Burton's Alice, but nothing can beat grim, dark, crazy American McGee's Alice. Too bad we'll probably never see such a movie =(

Amazing improvement from the first pages, there are really good pieces here.
I like the way you render the surfaces, undoubtedly you are achieving good results with the speedpaints and this practices are helping you to get better in the more advanced images.
As a crit, maybe a little more anatomy and composition study could help. In example, sometimes the reading lines of your characters in the foreground are confused by the shapes in the background.

I'm a C++ programmer, and started to paint 1,5 years ago, and can do it only about 2hrs per day, but I'll f#$king overwhelm those biting my legs >:E Oh damn how angry I am >:E

i like to look at the fist page of people's sketchbooks, and then jump to the last ones. Just to see how far they have gotten. And yeah you've improved quite a bit. You got the imagination, and you're quite good with values.
But your colors are at times dull, in that sense that the shadows are perhaps too desaturated? Depending on the lighting, shadows tend to be more saturated then the highlights. And keep some variation in color. Like that goblin picture, great anatomy and value, but the colors are too dull. Too little variation in hue. Like when you look at your hand, it's not just brown or redish with different value. A little bit greenish, a little bit yellowish, with spots more saturated then other places.
Perhaps you should try some color studies? Use color reference while you work?

Don't know if I'm being too harsh here, i think you'd be able to handle it rather quickly. Since you're already well on your way.

Hahaha, I looked at your pictures and thaught" oh cool it's quit good", but then "Wtf, why nobody writes here?" XD

Sometimes the colors are a lil too dull like Swooshbuckler said, maybe cause you mostly draw just the colors of the object and a bit of the surounding light. But nearly never the colors(light) from the other objects or enviroment, which is naturaly mixing in. Some objects are not hard(you draw a lot of metal XD), like skin and clothes are a bit of transparency and let light through it, this change the colors too.
A other thing I notice is that your poses are a bit to stiff, probably cause you use one and the same pose over and over again or a bit changed and rarly other. =) You should try to vary it more. You can surely do it cause you are improving good! Keep up the good work!
