I need some good books on light. Does anybody have the book by ted seth jacobs light for the artist? If so do you recommend it? Wanna know before I shell out 60 dollars for it. If you can recommend anymore let me know.

I only know one book on light by Robert W. Gill - "Basic Rendering: Effective Drawing for Designers, Artists and Illustrators". Major part of it is about atmospheric effects, how light bounces surfaces, reflections and similar stuff. You might find it useful.

I've written a book on the subject, but sadly it won't be out until next March. You can read the first chapters here:

next march? man, reading the first few chapters is like wetting an appetite and leaving me thirsty for more knowledge. I really NEED this information it's a necessity. It's the final chapter in my development I think. Can you recommend Ted Seth Jacobs in the meantime?

I definitely recommend Ted's book. It does drift off into metaphysics at times, and its approach is very broad, but there's lots of good info if you dig for it, and it's full of reproductions of his paintings, which are an education in and of themselves.
Itchy, great site. I remember running across and not bookmarking it a few years ago, so I'm glad to rediscover it. I look forward to the book.

seriously that mere "appetizer" can easily keep you busy for 10 years.
it's not about the sum of facts you know it's about what you have properly digested and what you are able to apply.
