Hi,
After nothing but problems with painter on my Mac (glitches, crashes, random slowdowns etc) i've finally decided to move my entire workflow into PS CS3.
The only brush I find I really miss is painter's "Just add water" blender.
I've tried in vein to recreate a lag free equivalent in PS without success, so I was wondering if any of you guys know how to make one?

Ahh, scatter, I didn't even think of that! But after reading that thread maybe leaving just add water behind is a good thing. Some great painting tips there.

Jump the painting to a new flat layer on top.
Blur the top layer a fair amount.
Give the top layer a mask. Make the mask black (I think) to fully hide the top blurry layer
Paint white in the layer mask with a brush of your choice and it will feel a lot like 'just add water'
If you like it, maybe merge it down, if you like painting on only 1 or 2 layers

I made a little video about how I like to Blend Colors in Photoshop (http://www.digitalartform.com/archives/2009/07/how_to_blend_co.html) that includes what I describe in the post above
