View Full Version : Jason Manley: Color and the Theory of Light - Closed
Jason Manley
July 12th, 2009, 03:25 AM
UPDATE...TIME IS 1PM CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Replacing image. I am in Austin tx..which is central daylight. We will start the show then.
You can cover your tuition here: http://www.conceptartstore.com/stcl.html
Welcome. COLOR AND THE THEORY OF LIGHT is one of the most elusive courses in education. In all of my teaching, studies, or travels, I have yet to see one class anywhere that all of this information is shared, even over multiple semesters in Art School. Well this Saturday it is on ConceptArt.Org, LIVE, streaming and in your room.
This coming Saturday, we will be delving deeply into the importance of lighting theory for illustration, concept design, Fine Art, 3d, film, games, comics, and visual media of all kinds. There will be more information announced shortly but I thought to add some info so those who are interested in their artistic growth may have something good to look forward to.
Communicating the visual feeling of light, and depth of mood is of the utmost importance when making art, no matter the field or industry. Today's art world requires a spectrum of understandings related to both visual and cultural color theories. Accurate, abstract, and emotional qualities of color will be focused on. We will cover basic, intermediate and advanced color theory as directly related to making visual art. Students will learn how to create focal areas, pictorial space through color movements and atmospheric perspective as well as narrative color control for precise and purposeful visual storytelling. Basic lighting theory will be heavily focused on including topics of temperature, value, saturation, compliment lighting, and palette choice for mood variation.
Date: Sunday July 26 2009 (Sunday date added as this was originally the thread for Sat and is now Sun)
Time: 1pm - 5pm Central DAYLIGHT Time http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=24 i.e. 1PM here in Austin Texas.
Cost: 95 USD
This course will be taught live and online. Students will be allowed to chat and ask questions of each other during the lecture and presentation in order to better understand the discussion. I will answer questions as time allows, as we have much to cover. It is a thorough course and you will want to take notes.
This course will be in HD and requires a standard broadband connection. 56k beware! If you are located in Timbuktoo and have a very poor internet connection I will be running a test in the next day or two. Watch the forums here for times and more information, or add me on Facebook and I will update there too. www.facebook.com/creativedreams is my profile there.
Information on how this works will be announced shortly.
I taught a portion of this course in New Zealand at the Marama Workshop. I asked the audience, which was more than half filled with professionals from companies like Weta, Krome Studios and many more, an important question. "How many of you got this in art school?" The answer was unfortunate...none. Well we are going to do something about that here on CA. This topic is going to be shared, explored, and utilized to help artists make better work immediately. Your work will improve because your color understanding will be honed and your eyes opened to how light, mood, and color communication works. I have taught this class many times now and have expanded it to include more info on a variety of fields and how this most important foundation can be utilized every time you sit with the brush or pen.
Hope to see you there! Watch this thread for more info over the coming days.
Jason
UPDATE 1:
Those taking the course will retain access to a video copy of it for their own usage, in streaming form, here on the site. If you need to review, we are hosting it for you. It will only be available for those attending the course with me directly. We will have other services available next year perhaps...but right now the future is upon us.
Now on to the WHY?
If I am taking the time to do this to support the community. Aside from teaching this course based on my primary core studies in art over the past thirteen years, and sharing that knowledge with everyone, there is a goal I have for you all. The reason I am doing this right now is that we are still thousands of dollars short of completing the new blog/profile/main page/and social networking features, including a better jobs site. If I want to see that done for all of you, I have to raise the cash to make it happen. This is being done to support the growth of CA. The new main page is going to be killer. The amount of content for the new page that is stored up is really deep and it will be the primary news source for art online when I am done. Thanks to some talented folks, we have an excellent example and layout in which to work with. Gotta get going though. CA needs the funds to do it so here I am.
What we have done so far (aside from this course and pertaining to the site upgrades):
Final skins are in progress. Example/Prototype is done.
Loads of podcasts are in progress and done.
Main page admins are found and ready to rock (Dwight and Swain from SideBar Nation are helping the community)
Tech firm is found and ready to go as soon as budget is in. Bid is complete.
Forums and systems are all updated and bug tested. Ready to add the new tech. The latest forums features are in place. Ready to now add the new tech. The online school site is in early development. This budget is also having to be raised. Thanks to our featured artist Sammy, we have another instructor to help me get this going after this course is done.
The blog system is designed, as is the auto-updater.
If there is enough interest I will do another time. I don't mind staying up for you guys. I am doing that now already. Been working all night.
Thanks for the interest everyone.

It's so great ! First composition download, then color and light theory, it's like a dream ! I would really join this class, but i thing the main disadvantage is the time zone ( 7 hours of difference between SF and France ) ! Anyway thank you

Oh man!
Jason, that's really like a dream come true! This is exactly what i need, and i guess many self taught artists and like you said even art school students are thinking the same way about this. There are so many little and big questions regarding this topic, and it would be great to finally have a bunch of them answered.
I definitely want in this course !!

Awesome, I'll be keeping an eye on this.
But unfortunately, I live on the other side of the planet, so that could lead to some complications unless I stay up to watch it.

Holy crap, this is something I need to see. The one color studies class my college offered was pretty unsatisfactory, so I've had to start reading books on my own. I still don't feel like I'm taking it all in though, so something like this could be great for me. The only hurdles are going to be time and to a much greater degree, cost. I'm already a full time student with a part time job, but damnit, if I have to lose a couple extra hours of sleep for this I will. Now I just need to save every penny I've got. ...Well, maybe I'll start saving after the composition download comes out. ;)
btw, will the students be doing voice chat or text? I don't have my own computer at school, and I always hate to be talking out loud in the computer lab (which isn't to say a bunch of other douches already do it).

QuaTronics brings up a good idea, it would be great if these sessions were recorded. That way you could offer them as paid downloads for those who weren't able to attend, and as a reference for those who did.

One of the problems I see occurring will be the entire channel swamped in questions. Making you lose a lot of time trying to dig through everything and not answering matters twice.
So it might be beneficial if you would designate someone to collect all the questions and have that person filter them into the most essential.
Like they do in developer chats on irc.

Hey Jason,
Im really glad youve chosen to repeat that lecture from Marama. It was really helpful! Ive actually spent the last 8 or 9 odd months compiling my own color theory tute (30 odd pages or so soon to be added to my sketchbook no doubt) so this will be another huge asset to most artists out there! color theory and even general knowledge of color systems and how to manipulate them to an artists needs is something very lacking in many artists i hear. thanks for sharing! hope to catch this myself

I'm interested but I'm worried about 2 things:
1] I hope there will be a good time schedule also for italian people
2] If you teach us you should also have the time to answer our questions about the topic covered, otherwise this class won't be different than a simple download apart the fact that would be live ando so once is gone is gone and we can't rewatch it as we like, so what's the plus for us?
Honestly my hope was that the streaming content would have been available for the people who paid for it not only once and waht I expect from a course is that I can have my questions answered.
Maybe I didn't understand your post but at this time I'm a little disappointed... :(

The course is so thorough I will be surprised if there are many questions. There rarely are during or after my color theory lectures, though this one has been expanded to cover a number of other areas within games, film, etc... If you listen and pay attention you will see for yourself. I will answer questions of course. I said that already. :) That is the point of doing it live. Direct interaction. That is the beauty of technology and a primary reason for doing it live. Those taking the course will retain access to a video copy of it for their own usage, in streaming form, here on the site for thirty days. If you need to review, we are hosting it for you. 2. If you read the first post, which clearly you did not, you would find the answer to your question.
3. Disappointed? Ok. But only because you must learn to work on your patience. :) I did tell you more info was coming. Patience patience.
4. If you take a course in college you do not get to keep the lectures. You are expected to pay attention and take notes and RETAIN to learn. This is no different. However, as said above, we are going to host the video for the attendees so it can be revisited.

1] I agree, at least I can take a day off of work to follow your lesson because I think you have much to teach me.
2] I read the post.... but maybe the fault is my understanding of english language because when I read "I will answer questions as time allows, as we have much to cover" I understood that if you'll have the time you'll answered the questions but it's not sure because the things to cover are very much... sorry! :)
3] Sorry again! :)
4] In my opinion you don't have to compare what you're offering only with college but also with what other online communities are offering at the moment. I took an online class with Don Seegmiller and I learned a lot because of the assignements and the exercises that he looked at and told me what to correct and what to focus on. I think you're a very talented group of artists and it would be great to have some you as teacher for a little long time than a simple lesson with no possibility to let you see what we've understand and being addressed by you about the covered topic of the course. I can follow your lesson and think I've understand everything but when I try to put it on the paper I can create a shit and it would be great for me to hear you telling me: "what are you doing? You're not following what I said because..." I understand this would be a little more complex for you to do but it can be done with some days of delay between questions and answers and of course since it's a different kind of approach you can charge the service more and earn more money for the new website.
Last but not least let me say again I appreciate very much what you're doing here and I'm trying to support CA as much as I can and when I critic something my aim is to let CA become a better place for eveyone and not for the pleasure to stress people who's gving his aim to this site and Art in general.
Thank you!

My problem with classes is that I'm slow at writing (eyesight...it's still a good reason!), so I hope you don't go through the lessons too fast... But I dunno, my "fast" tends to be other people's "normal" speed. Pfft. :( At least I wouldn't have to go through a number of buildings to find your class, Jason! :D

Indeed. I can afford what I pay for a community college class, but I'd have to like... finance it :|. For comparison, my Life Drawing class is $486.00 and at least I know the proceeds are going back to something great, like this community.

If I can afford it, and I can actually view it because of the time difference, I will definately join! Money will be the biggest issue for me, but I'm sure it will be more than worth it. I'm really excited just thinking about it :D !
I know that everyone working on it will offer it for a fair price, and it's even better to know the money will be going back to the community, so it's win/win all around! A big thank you to everyone who is organising and helping with this!

It is not going to be 486.00 that is for certain. :)
I sent off some questions to coro and melissa and andrew. answers soon.
For those of you interested in the course I have an assignment for you if you want to test your before and after knowledge. This is just for fun.
Do three environmental or figure studies.
1. morning light...sunrise
2. cloudy day light
3. mid day light
4. night time
Subject is up to you. Consider them color studies. After the course do the same assignment and see the results for yourself. Having this done before hand will give you a great example of how your understandings improve in the coming months after the course. In all honesty, I expect an immediate improvement in a lot of ways. We shall see for ourselves. :)
Here are some color studies from the 19th century. Even the big boys did em. Best thing to do for your eyes and understanding of color. Hell, Monet made a whole career of them, as did Caillebotte and other awesome painters.

While I patiently await more information, I wonder if there could be any discussion of price range? Unfortunately I'm a bit strapped financially at the moment, though I think that I could scrape up enough. I've never participated in anything even remotely like this so I have no idea what to expect. I wonder if a ballpark price range, even a very vague one, could be provided?
If not then I will simply keep checking back.

We have our work cut out for us. Every single one of you posting images needs to start painting and drawing from life. Every day if possible. There is not enough observation happening in your day to day experiences regarding colors. Start paying attention to what colors shadows are compared to the light. Start paying attention to what colors you see as many times of day as you can, outside and in. Look at the light. Observe. Remember. For most of you the weakness is not just that you don't understand color but that you are not looking at light everyday and remembering what you saw. Look. Look again. Remember.
I will have more info on the course shortly.

Question: When and where does one use muted colors as opposed to temperature in show form? And vice versa. I understand that things might be fairly relative, especially when observing from life, but I guess I am thinking in general terms. Hope that makes sense... :lifedrawing:

Question: When and where does one use muted colors as opposed to temperature in show form? And vice versa. I understand that things might be fairly relative, especially when observing from life, but I guess I am thinking in general terms. Hope that makes sense... :lifedrawing:
It depends on the lighting condition.
Is your light muted and desaturated or your shadows? Are your light and shadows both more muted but your middles (the transitions between light and shadow or the reflect light) are more saturated? You get to make the call. :)
There is a range of saturation in both light and shadow as well as in the transitions. First you must choose which of the three contains your saturation as a whole, when considering how chroma level effects form.
You can pull with muted colors or you can push with them. It depends on your lighting choices.
For example...an environment with a rich golden ray of light casting across the middleground of a landscape...but unseen clouds in the sky cast shadows across the foreground. In that case the shadows in the front planes are more muted (as a general starting point) since the light is very saturated. Just like lights and darks vary in value...light vs shadow varies in saturation in most cases.
If in that same landscape, the saturated light was hitting the foreground and the cloudy misty drab areas were in the middle ground, then the saturation would be pulling toward the viewer, instead of away.
Color is relative. You must just be consistent. You can push or pull. You must choose your lighting situation first in order to decide...ala your light might be a warm saturated orange....thus your shadows would lean toward the opposites...a cool desaturated blue. Opposites opposites.
Adding in a secondary fill light color for variation and interest and it does not look so formulaic. Radiosity (the bounce light from objects in or out of the scene...of those objects which reflect color into the scene around them) can be used in the same way...and will change the formula to something a little more believable.
Another thing to keep in mind is that as the form turns in space it will often contain color information that is toward the background color as it moves that direction...as it turns farther and farther away to the background it picks up more of the background color. Of course one must purposely decide which planes are further away, and where the planes are in space on the form, in order to use such devices.
This same point, about background color, is appropriate for seeing color move in space...ala trees getting more and more blue as the move toward the horizon on a blue sky day. You can push and pull in any direction you choose.
I will go over all of this in the class in depth...and this is just a teensy part from the big picture.
I look forward to more questions in class and will be showing great examples of how this is all used. Many will understand just by my showing it.
See you next weekend. :)

Here's a color study from observation at close to noon. Not sure if I'm doing this correctly, but what I picked up was bright, warm, desaturated color in the light areas and cooler, saturated shadows. Shadows on any white objects looked like a saturated blue. I'll try doing a person in the same light next time.

If you are working from life let your eyes relax...take in the whole scene at once...once your eyes relax and you see everything at the same time (not focusing on any details but the entire field of vision), compare the the various large areas of color against one another. Compare shadow colors vs. light colors. Compare big light shapes against one another. I think you will all find that your are currently ignoring most of what you see. Gotta look at it all at the same time and then compare. Color is relative. You cant just focus on one part and put it down. Once you block it all in compare what you see to what you have painted. You will find every color in the spectrum in front of you in subtle ways. Red bricks might be violet in one area and more orange in another. Gray sidewalks might be greener in one area of space and more yellow in others...LOOK. LOOK. and LOOK. that is the key. :)

I actually planned to do this type of stuff for a long time but somehow I couldn't start. Quick colors studies from the office window I saw lately on the Nathan Fowkes blog and this thread were impulse for me though.
I don't have very exciting view from my room and I tried hard to make some decent composition out of it. These are very quick beacause light changed like in kaleidoscope that day. I started painting with one palette and ended tweaking it up a little.
727707
Observations.
12:30 PM - No clouds. Strong wind. Local colors seem slightly muted in the shadow. The movement of leaves enhances the effect of mixing colors in the eye.
15:10 PM - Thunderstorm. No wind. Very little value contrast. Strong contrast between individual local colors. It seems like juicy colors more juicy while gray colors more gray.
18:10 PM - Partially clowdy. Subtle white haze from the sun above the building (that I couldn't capture).
21:00 PM - Rain. Beginning of dusk. Uniformly clouded sky was almost pale green which made everything look like through green filter. It also made the reds pop a lot. Later sky turned into pale orange.
22:00 PM - Rain. For a split second before it got completely dark I noticed that roof could be dark purple and everything behind the lamp more red. I left those colors but with darker values than I initially painted.
4:30 AM - Clowdy. Beginning of the dawn. Everything seems much less saturated than in the night.

July 19th, 2009, 06:01 AM
farvus...try working half value step darker for your daytime studies...it will push the saturation and feeling of light to seem more like how that light actually feels. Great exersize though. Total monet in it's intent. Like his cathedral studies...all about the light. For night time, work half value step lighter so you can get your color in there too. Staying off white and off black helps give the feeling of actual light...after all it is an illusion...and that little trick can help the cause!
Look for a spectrum of colors in any given shape of value that you see. They are there. If you see pink look at that shape..i bet there are some purple pinks in parts or greener pinks in parts or...let your eyes relax. Compare. You will see it.

For some reason it looks a lot more saturated than in Photoshop, I guess I have messed with the color settings or something.

Great initiative! I have mostly paid attention to light and form, so a little knowledge of colours would be very welcome.
I particularly have a problem with sunlit grass and trees. I usually add more yellow and white to the highlights (and make shadows darker, of course), but it doesn't really give me enough, I think. Furthermore I find it difficult to make strongly lit grass and trees without making the colours too garish.
I have made some very fast studies - and now to all the excuses: they need some touch-ups once they are dry (otherwise I will mess up my colours even more), the lighting in the photo is a disaster and there is no such thing as correct perspective - but it is only a colour study, right?

As I have understood it, the US has daylight saving too. So technically it would not be Central Standard Time but Central Daylight Time (GMT -5). Central European Summer time is GMT +2 which would make a 7 hour difference. Correct me if I am wrong.
Maybe we should make a test to be sure. At 1 pm someone in the CST (well CDT actually) time zone makes a post saying: "It's now 1 pm". The rest of us will sit at the computer at the time we believe corresponds to this. If we do not see the post, we need to recalculate.

Hello Jason,
One of the pictures you have of Sargent is one of my favorite paintings. I'm working on a Master Copy of that very painting.

I have a hand injury that had been preventing me from finishing it, but I'd love to hear your lectures on Color theory, I'm just another artist who is learning. I love learning though, it's what makes me keep trying.

The price is really fair IMO, but I wasn't expecting the date to be announced so close to the class date. When you are one of two people in a company that can do your job...one week simply isn't enough notice to get a day off. Hopefully, if and when then next class comes around I will have my trainee ready and able to fill in for me. *crosses fingers*

[o] :: in the earlier posts Jason said that its for all levels and everyone in every skill level will take something away from this lecture.
also, i am pretty sure that you will have access to the lecture so you can watch it over and over again if you attend the class (correct me if im wrong)
patiently waiting to pay for this lecture.......im actually really excited for this. I didnt have a very good color theory class at Syracuse but we did focus on lighting our models. granted our focus was to help illustrators create a sense of drama and or intrigue, yet it always turned out that the students, including my self, used lighting as an easy way to paint less and produce faster results. So i am really looking forward to wealth of information i am about to learn from this lecture:pirate:

I guess we still have to be patience. Its quite a challenge for MB . They might
get several last minute bug to fix. I m confident that they'll be efficient and get everything work by time even if its at the last minute.
Its in their interest to have the more student sign up for their fund raise. So we just have to be patience and watch the post and are email.
Even if or connection broke down. So what guys we still have a month to view it if you payed.
And for all of those who are wondering if they can afford the money. Its the cheapest thing out there for a good color theory. And it will be well invest in their project .
All of my Teacher in the past who instruct some of it was pretty confusing and didn't always make sense. Even in color theory books don't always explain it wright there are a lot of misunderstanding on the subject.
So I say to you guys, It is the shit! I'm sure it will be the best course of color theory for the price. So we wait and be patience

I just had to reread the thread because I wondered where the only available for 1 month afterwards came from. To be honest I'm not working in colour at the moment, doing Bargues. After that will come cast drawings and then cast paintings. After a few of these I will start colour. So I think, if vid is only available for 1 month, I'm gonna bow out. Maybe if you offer something later or permanently available I'll jump at it then.

Me too. I've got a confirmation of the transaction, but didn't get the info. Maybe the order needs more time to process... I've done the payment 4 hours ago, but the order status is blank... so if the payment doesn't go through on time - which is in two minutes - and is charged later, that means the money goes down the drain? Thank you Jason for spending so many hours with us covering a lot of material. I think you said it best when you asked a question near the 3rd quarter of the lecture "How many of you were taught what I've been showing you here" and that question spoke volumes. Given that the responses were correct. What you taught in 6 hours aren't even covered in a lot of Art Schools these days. I know a lot of the material you were posting was barely covered at the Art Institute I went to. There was the general info you can find at the library in the "easy to read" books.
Thank you too for offering some time out of your schedule to offer some crits in how to improve works too. Thank those participating who offered their work as examples.
A suggestion to those who attend these broadcasts. - Please avoid using colored fonts and use them to highlight a question only. Jason really goes through and answers a lot of people's questions which is a bonus, so it would be great for more people to refrain from pretty texty colors unless you got a question - the method worked great because he was able to pick up on some good questions asked during the lecture.
Some other advice is that if you like to multi-tab on your browser, it will eventually slow you down. Firefox has some memory abuse issues, so the longer you're on the more you'll feel it - (if other people have tips for other browsers ...please let me know).
Other troubleshooting tips is to make sure you have the livestream open in one browser and don't have other things that use audio or video on...vlc, youtube...etc. kill any extra processes that may affect your internet too.
Thank you again for the lectures, you really brought up some really beautiful examples of Master painters, and yes! Thank you for showing some good theories done by Anders Zorn. There are some wonderful interactive moments in these lectures that don't show up in a download.

If you're a beginner like me, Jason's lecture will pretty much show you the things you need to be aware of and all the principles we need to work towards. :)

Thanks a ton Jason, the money, the waiting and staying awake until 4:45 A.M. was all worth for the quality of your lecture, tons of priceless information that iŽll mever find somewere else. IŽll be participating to second one too ;p
Q: will we be able to download it? Cuz there was so much information, that iŽm afraid iŽll forget some stuff, especially if its important, and i would like to have the video to watch again and again, whenever i need to.
Thanks Jason, and also thanks to Davi, for this wonderful experience, see you again at 1 P.M. ;)

I am really interested in doing this, but I'm at work all day today and it's probably just 2 hours before I get out of work.. will there be a recording available to buy?

Just wanted to come and add my praise for last night's class. If anyone's reading these wondering if it's worth the $95, I would have happily paid double. If there's one thing that really sells this as a class it's Jason's passion. This man and his colleagues are putting their hearts and souls into the means to teach those of us who wish to know all this traditionally sound information that a lot of art schools simply don't know any more, or charge a fortune to teach. That really comes across in the way he talks about light and colour, and the way he talks about the direction he wants to take conceptart.org. Watching that download has given me an amazing desire to really want to get involved in this community again (soon as work's done) because I honestly believe this place is going to be something special when they start bringing in this new tech.
The class was very organic in it's structure: I got the sense Jason had no particular direction, aside from wanting to cover certain aspects in a certain order. Much of the information on offer was prompted by questions asked by those who attended, and there was no issue with covering something multiple times, if it was felt that people were struggling to understand it. It's also opened my eyes to a large number old masters that I was unaware of, and the way the Jason explains how various paintings and photographs implement what he's trying to teach was great.
I really can't recommend this class enough. If you've ever been taught by anyone in your life whose passion rubbed off on you, you'll know what a difference it makes to the way you take the information in, and Jason is more that capable of enthusing those he teaches with the same passion that clearly comes across when he talks. $95 is a steal for information that, if you have the passion to improve your art and the motivation to keep trying, will last you a lifetime!
Personal thanks for all your hard work Jason, the reason I took this class was because though my work is getting on okay, I often have no idea why certain pictures work, and certain ones don't, and last night has really, really opened my eyes a lot to the devices that can be manipulated to give me a better result. Absolutely brilliant, and your professional and personal generosity is really astounding. :yayca:

Thank you so much, Jason, for the class yesterday. I had to miss a bit of it and I really regret it! The rest of the class was really great!

Hey Jason, was watching the class last night. Can't believe how much we learned :)
Looking forward to watching it again and taking more notes (got over 10 pages already) Colour is slowley but surely making sense now.
Huge thank you to yourself and everyone else involved. :D

More praise here Jason, this is really essential information for learning color and it is almost a crying shame they really don't teach this in the schools anymore.
I've sorta been feeling like I got stuck in the gutters lately not being sure on how to tackle my pieces and just...well...feeling down. Maybe it's because I'm too hard on myself sometimes but this really gave me more confidence in approaching not just color but also your art in general. Yeah this was a great class and can't recommend it enough. Jason thank you again for all your hard work...dude I would just like to meet you one day and shake your hand for just everything you do for this community and the arts...seriously.
Guys whats in this lecture you'll likely won't learn in most of those thousand dollar art courses. $95 is a steal for this kind of information.
Again, thanks Jason and also to everyone else who was in the class. I'll be there again today trying to soak up as much of this knowledge as possible.

After an entire weekend without Internet, I come home to discover that there's a second chance to this course.
And of course I discover this when they're halfway through it.
I think I might just kill myself horribly.

Well, it is Sunday 26th, 2.44 p.m CDT, I paid for the lecture, went to the link page, entered my password (which was accepted), but all I have seen since 12.45 CDT is a spinning antenna in the centre of what I assume to be the viewing area in the browser.
I am using a Mac with Safari as the browser (also tried Firefox), same result, no lecture :nohope:
I have a broadband connection with just under 10 MB download speed if that helps to eliminate any possibility.

Hi Jason,
I was just very disappointed that I could not view it. I have the latest versions of both Firefox and Safari, with the latest Flash player plugin. Unfortunately, I only have access to a Mac, and cannot use Internet Explorer.
Is it possible to view a recording in another format, and is the current format Windows viewable only?

Second class just finished. I was able to catch the majority of both classes. SUPER helpful, well worth the $95. This class really did open my eyes to a lot of things, and will leave its mark on every color piece I do from now on. If you missed this, make sure to save up for the next one!

Wow, more than 7 hours of lecture. This was intense to say the least. So much information I didn't run across yet and weren't really likely to in the near future. Thank you plenty, Jason!
