September 10-13, 2009 at the Annual California State Bar Convention we will be hosting our Annual Bench and Bar Art Exhibition. I am one of the co-chairs of the art exhibition.
This year we are exhibiting in the Manchester Ballroom at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego.
I need to come up with one to three people (preferably with some kind of credentials) to judge the show, which will contain art by attorneys and judges in traditional media plus photograhy both traditional and digital.
The bar association doesn't give me a budget to pay people, hence the listing in the non-paying job section. I can at least get your bio information written in the show brochures the bar will print up. (Hence my interest in some kind of credentials). Judging will happen between about 3 PM and 4:30 on 9/10/09. There will be about 150 works in the following categories: Oils & acrylics-representational; oils & acrylics nonobjective; Portraits & Figures (all media but photo); Mixed media; prints drawings & watercolor; sculpture; ceramics; photos-color; photos B&W. You give out 1st, 2nd, 3rd, hon ment. in each category unless insufficient entries and there is also a Best in Show (which we call the Lee Potter Award, after a recently deceased co-chair who carried the show for many years).
I can probably get you an exhibitor pass of some sort, that will get you into the "little sandwiches and veggie trays" reception that will happen at five in the Exhibit Hall of the convention (where all the people with their booths will be giving out free pens and sticky note pads with their company name on them).
