Back when I was using CS2 I rarely, if ever, had this problem.

It wouldn't bother me if it was once and a while, but almost every time I boot up photoshop now, I have to test to see if it's recognized the pressure sensitivity. When I open something up, I can't do anything else to the canvas before testing it out with a line or I wont have pressure. I can't even go and make another layer, or it seems like that.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I encountered the same problem quite frequently in CS3 too until I found a solution from some sites.

The main reason why CS3 will lose sensitivity is that it lose focus when you launch it aka switching to other applications and even clicking outside of CS3 splash screen as it loads!

Exit CS3 if you're still running it and the next time you launch it, leave it running until it fully loaded. If that failed then I got no idea.. :/
