First time I've really played around with this sort of design. Still lots of problems and mistakes (still just learning) but I'd be interested to hear peoples comments.

Thanks for everyone who has made a reply, muchly appreciated. I've taken most of your comments and integrated them into the current sketch I'm working on. Check back soon in this thread as I'll post it here.

ans: cleaner lines - yep I would agree with that
FFS: thanks for the compliments - I'm still trying to figure out markers
Golanhall: yeah the feet were something that bugged me. I was looking for that balance between cleaner/simple and detailed
madpencil - agreed about the vanishing points. As a first piece I didn't know how tight to make vanishing points, obviously more than what I have here. It also gave me no end of grief trying to get the feet to work properly.

Keep the comments coming :)

Good attitude dude! check this out, I don't know if you've seen it but it's cool and I think it'll help you.

thanks for that madpencil. I'd actually seen it at the beginning of last year (or there abouts) and got my hands on that concept design book (been waiting for ages for the 'how to draw vehicles one'). The tutorial was great but I guess I'm still at that stage of trying to nail it down by sight and become efficient at it (just practice).

After taking people's crits into account, came up with this one. Still trying to get the hang of things

nice, very feng-like, and a good sense of scale.

madpencil: thanks again for your comments. Just using a Feng like technique, only problem is that I haven't been able to find prisma colour markers in Australia. I'm using Tria here but get the feeling they are a lower quality and don't work as well.

Golanhall: thanks dude and I'll keep them coming

That second one fu^&in Rocks!
Nice..Very nice! Cool Industrial feel to it and very feng like but..It has a taste of Chiang too. I like that. But it is your drawin..the "sketchey" lines you use are a nice personal touch and gives it a little more life not as stiff looking.:chug:

Rayl: thanks very much for your enthusiatic response to the 2nd piece! Its very Feng like as I snapped up his DVDs as soon as I heard about them (only last month - and I can't recommend them enough - they are fantastic) but also the Chiang comparison eh ... not worthy :D

Interesting comment about the line work. In the 2nd piece I still thought it was a little too stiff and not loose enough (where as the 1st one was too loose). Still looking for that balance as it adds that element of 'life' and saves it from being a CAD drawing.
