Team Name - Codaxis Forge (www.codaxisforge.com)

Project Name - Codename: "Codex"

Brief Description - Codex is a legendary project that has recently been undertaken by those chosen by God to do His bidding upon the face of the world. It is to be a medieval simulation game set in the first perspective which borrows from genres such as Sims, Real-Time Strategy, Role Playing and Free-Form games. While it is an online game shared between several players to recreate the most realistic environment possible, the scope is not to create an mmo, quite on the contrary, therefore each server will not exceed 100-200 players at any given time. Each individual in the team has received a vision from His Holiness to depart on a quest to create a game in His image and does not have the luxury of failing Him.

Target Aim - The Aim is to go commercial, following the "Beta In-Progress" approach much like several successful titles (Mount & Blade is a good example of this technique). We have what it takes to back our claims here. Our Lead Designer works also for one of the greatest commercial game making companies (not as janitor, mind you!) and is usually efficient at writing lots of numerals in the margin of his endless design documents. Our programmer is an application developer for a biochemical engineering company (computer sciences major) and likes long complicated titles but turns up quite concise when it comes to writing actual code (wow). We like Tostitos as much as the next guy so yes, aside from being demi-gods, we are also humans, mind you, hence the need to create a project on the indie scene.

Compensation - I'll be honest, don't join for the money. We are starting with no means, and we don't know what tomorrow has in mind for us therefore we won't make promises on the what if scenarios. Truth is we're going commercial on this title but we can't say when or if it will ever turn up a profit. This is as serious as a project can get, the only compensation we can offer is to let you use this as a portfolio piece worth showing to future employers.

Technology -

Programming:
Client: Visual Studio 2008 compiler, C++, Ogre3D
Server: CentOS (gcc) C++,modified raknet

3D Modeling/2D art:
Whatever tools you are most familiar with.

Talent Needed -

"Duke" Modeler - A noble artist that is willing to help us shape the initial bases of the game to avoid the hideous placeholders that every title sadly goes through. His task will be to kill every placeholder, one by one, until all heretics have been disposed of and the word of the One reigns supreme. Should the Modeler be also skilled in the field of basic animations, all the better as we will attempt to put the core into place for what is yet to come.

"Bishop" General Artist - A priest who has the zeal to face our requirements in the field of textures and concepts to get the core of the engine running up. His piety must not falter as he will be the guide for many more to come.

Additional Info - Generic list of features include macro and micro gameplay elements (in no particular order):

-The ability to command npcs into gathering resources and building up structures with them
-The inability to physically reproduce with the USB port
-The generation of computer-players which abide by the same exact rules as the players but are computer-controlled
-The cool feeling of praying God and actually receiving answers...
-The sad feeling of being possessed by Satan and suffering...
-The ability to play as a noble, attempt to get higher in the society's ranks through marital status (I'm so gonna dig this courtesan!) or promotion (I'm so gonna lick the King's ass) etc..

Assets:
We have a functioning client and server, with many features being added in daily. We are currently testing this locally on a very fast connection.
We have dedicated server(s) on separate 100 mbps lines in Seattle.
This project is managed professionally with proper external software

Feedback:
Anything that doesn't mock the fact that this post is being exaggerated on purpose in the name of humor. This is indie, we aren't slave drivers ;)
