These is some of my backgrounds paintings from year 2 for a grad animation called "The Great Race"
One of the best things about the course is getting us to work in teams
In year 2 I worked under the wonderful Mr Geoff King the Director and the marvelous miss Beth Witchalls the Producer.
Unfortunately it can be seen on tubeoftheYOU due to festival reasons, but it has been very successful at animation festivals across the UK, and just maybe it will be on the internet in the near future :)

More.
Keep in mind all for animation, so there all missing the main focal paint which should be the characters. The long ones nearly melted my computer, especially when painted at HD resolution

There was one scene that required CG in it, It was modeled by the director and the camera move planned. I just textured it using the 3D paint tools, painting directly into Maya, in 3D space...it's alot of fun :). It could have been more sophisticated though with more experience and practice.

Just to stress the below are all studies of other peoples work to improve for the project.
