New to sketchup, going through tutorials, but was wondering
HOW DO YOU BEVAL THE TOP OF A CYLINDER
There must be a way to use the "follow me" tool for this, but I just can't figure it out.

Not really what I was looking for (although I appreciate the reply), but I have an idea. I think I could just ad an arc to the top of the cylinder and "follow me" around the top, resulting in a taller shape.
What I was looking for was a way to cut an arc or beval out of what's already there. I'd still like to know how to do that, and I can't figure it out or find anything that tells me what to do.

I am not exactly sure what you are trying to do but it sounds like you want to use another shape to intersect your cylinder.

Prove that if a F, v V, and av = 0, then a = 0 or v = 0.
Seems simple and obvious but i cant put it into words. Thanks for the help.

Use offset tool to create inner circle and use move tool (invoking autofold) to pull up.
Best,
Jason.

What Jason said is probably the easier way to do it, but here is a way to do it using the followme tool:
1.Make cylander.
2. Create shape of bevel, it can be more complicated than this since you are doing a profile of it. I just did a quick 45 angle.
3. Select top edge of cylander then click to follow me tool.
4. Using the followme tool click to profile that is sitting on top of your cylander. You won't have to drag it anywhere since you already have the top edge selected.
