View Full Version : desert mount concept WIP (proportions and shape)

This is more of an exercise than a real work. I'm trying to learn how to define shape with shadows instead of texture (which is what I've done so far for the most part). The direction of light is also a thing I haven't really given much thought before. If you'd please take a look at what I've got so far: (ignore the rider itself for now)

To me the neck seems a little flat atm and there's also some perspective problems with the feet. For example the right front foot might be a bit too big and seems to be facing almost the same direction as the left one(?).. Any pointers on how I could improve the shading, anatomy and perspective of the beast?

Well for the foot, simply rotating the toes should help.
