Hello everyone. I've been a longtime lurker of this site, and have gotten a lot of inspiration from the art here. Most importantly, however, seeing the stuff here got me drawing again after nearly a year of nothing. I'm still starting out (that is I'm only 16 and have had very little art experience), but I decided that I wanted some input on what I was doing, so here is the most recent thing I've done, sort of a marine dude I guess, which I humbly put up for your criticism:

BETTER PIC 3 POSTS DOWN! SCROLL!

Btw, anyone else here color-blind? Always wondered that...

Oh, and I will scan in some more stuff, just as soon as my new computer arrives. Which could be weeks givin the quality of service I've gotten from the company so far.

Good god, I love to edit my post. Ok, I'm going to apologize for the horriable image quality now- 1. My line sucks. 2. Paint sucks. 3. My web host sucks, and I needed to make it under 180 kb.
Ok, I promise I won't edit anymore.

It isn't bad stuff, especially since you say you have little art experience. Definately something to work from.

I'd do what I am doing right now, grab some Anatomy books. I like Andrew Loomis's and best of all, it's free over at saveloomis.org.

Yeah I have a nice anatomy book already, and I've started to work with it. Good advice, thanks.
And in real life the lines are much easyer to see, my scaner is to blame for the fuzzyness.
Thank you for the replys.

Hi,
cool pic. The head and torso already look very good but you should work on the legs.
They are much too short (reached the end of the paper?) and they look too thick. Try to vary the size.

Would like to see a shaded version of it..

Yep, the paper abruptly ended, leaving me pissed off. As for the length of the legs, now that I look at him again, yeah, they are a tad short. I don't neccisarily think that they're too thick, its just sorta the way his pants are. I'll see if I can't fix him up, but I'm probably not going to spend much more time on him. Thanks for the reply.
