DSG Prize Winners & Contest info

DSG IS NOW OFFERING PRIZES!

HUH?
- Now, Dsg is not a contest, and shouldn't be looked at as one, but I would enjoy seeing users try harder to push themselves. I would also look to see more users doing the dsg. The webmaster @ Http://www.domai.com has offered a 30-day membership every week, that will be used for the best dsg artists of the week.

How do i win??? How is Judging?
- Myself and Mtomczek(the dsg guardian) will be judging. The judging will be based on who does the best work over the week, or maybe on a single piece that just blows us away. No winner can win twice in a single month(aka 4 unique winners per month).

How will i know if i win?
- I'll PM the winners and ask them for their email. Once i get the email I will converse with the webmaster @ Http://www.domai.com and the password will be sent from them. Winners of this prize MUST be over the age of 18 though(sorry federal law), though i will be trying to find an alternitive for the younger audience.

How can i increase my chancing of winning?
- Percipate and in the dsgs and do your best is the all we ask for :)

Will there be other speciality contests with prizes?
- We can only hold other speciality contests when we are given prizes to the dsg. Two of these contests have been done already! If you would like to donate a prize to the dsg, pm davi.

I can see where your coming from. But Domai is a sweet place to get reference on the female form. porn and artistic nudity are two different animals my friend. the masters never painted women doing lewd or degrading things. but they painted naked women.

it's based on the full week. i first talley which artists did my favorite pieces. then i keep going through the posts and adding people and usually one or two artists will get 3 points, so i look back at their works and pick between them. it's not based on single entry but their weekly effort.

and domai.com is not porn. the photos are extermely artistic and a fantastic site to learn the female anatomy from. I don't know of any male sites like this... if there is one let me know.

Its a great idea but as it stands only the elite artists would stand a chance right? I mean the noobs can't really compete against the professionals... Maybe have a most improved section (or something) to keep the mid-level/low-level artist interested/motivated.

I think the lower skilled artists would benefit from free porn access just as much... i mean tastefull figure reference... :D

it helps keep the great artists around that fuel the dsg, and it also helps some of the artists to push alittle harder for a goal of some sort.

and i do look at many things when i pick the artists out.

Hey davi- np I was just curious if you were still pickin winners or not. I have been preocupied with other things so I havent been participating in the dsg as much.

As far as the prize, I never heard anything so I contacted mtom- bout it..he said he would contact the person who was gonna send it, but..that was over a month ago or more..

It's no big deal, was just curious about what happened.

it's porn. end of story. Look at the language used on the site, many of the poses, and then read the dictionary definition of porn. "Tasteful", perhaps, but still porn.

Still a good reference on the female form though. Frankly I'd rather have a live model in a life drawing class. Not so... distracting as these sorts of photos.

Crazy talk. It's intended as porn, therefore it is, but how you use it is still up to you.

Actually, if you go by what it says on the site, it's not intended as porn.

Although it is in and of itself intended to be appealing to "Dirty old men" (it's to do with the name). It really does depend on how you look at it, and who you listen to as to whether it's porn or not. (personally I see it as a good source for images to practice drawing the female form with).

I just find it kind of hilarious that for most people in the world nowadays, nudity = porn (which is kinda rediculous). Most of the poses on the public sections of Domai are arranged in a way to just be visually appealing, there are a few that are borderline though. I think overall though, it really isn't meant as "porn" by most (not all) of the photographers/artists there.

seriously though, this was more than a year ago.. i'm almost sorry i brought this up again. fwiw, the prize thing only lasted a couple of winners worth (yes i did some homework this time)

i'm pretty sure your thoughts (as they do bare some wisdom) will be considered when/if there will be another prize to be won on CA.

thanks for the positive reply, i didnt realise how old this was, ive never seen it before even though im always trawling CA, haha. but yeah if there is another such competition try to make it more equal, i have done life drawing from men and women and i dont have a problem with nakedness but that site is just a bit unfair and saying you could use it for reference is a lame excuse.
