An interesting image coming along here. I guess I would look at the feeling that you are trying to get across. The image would appear to be set in the desert so I think you might like to have a think about your foreground colours. If it is in the desert and it is hot you should probably go for some "warm" colours such as reds, browns and oranges.

What type of material is that he is sitting on? Use colour to help give it a bit of texture and make sure it still works within the rest of the scene. Also think about where the light is coming from and drop in a shadow - is it high noon, late in the day, dawn or dusk?

I would suggest more shadow and a harsher contrast. If I was sitting in a desert with no clouds on a sunny day the shadows and highlights would be alot harsher.

Plus, think about where the sun is. Is it right above him or sitting to the right or left of the image. With an open area, natural light and no cover, this is extremely important.

I agree with Matt about the 'warmer' colour palette.

Nice linework, would like to see more.
