cute characters, good linework. I like the boys head / face, but I would have loved to have seen a hint of mechanical workings at his joints or torso. Same for the girl, the proportions are good for a couple of little robot characters, but I think they could have used a bit more "robot" in the legs and arms, if you know what I mean. You have a great style here, but don't be afraid to push past the initial idea and find ways to make the characters really pop. Last, I like the shading you did, and I think it works without any stong highlights, but I'm just curious as to whether or not you tried a pass of highlights on the characters. If you didn't, maybe try picking a light source and drop some highlights on the metal, it might not do anything for the piece, but then again it might!

Just my thoughts, i did a couple of robots recently and got good feedback when I posted, so I was inclined to comment here :)

Hey thanks very much for your comment! I did try some highlights, but it felt over powering in this image. Maybe I will make them more subtle. I definitely see what you're saying about the more mechanical nature in the arms and legs. That would give them a more "robot" look.
