DSG 310: phrase: "And the snow closed in around...."
Interpret that statement in any way you can. Could be characters, could be an environment, anything is possible with this one. Have fun with it.

My first DSG. I'll definitely be doing this again, I had a lot of fun.
I'm sure I won't be the only one with this idea, but hey, I did it first and that's what matters. I'm really getting the hang of my new tablet.

I know, I know, I totally screwed up the snowmen anatomy.

Been around 4 or 5 months since I last DSG'd, but this year I intend to get my priorities in order. And the forum colour scheme even compliments my sketch! :D

Since I have been doing a lot of dark b/w pieces lately I decided to do a 180 and pull off a fun and light piece. This took about three hours in Adobe Illustrator 10.

Oh man Sabre, I know this is probably the wrong response but when I scrolled down and saw that I started laughing out loud! Great piece.
nBT- yeah about 3 hours, I just draw everything directly in Illustrator, no previous sketch or anything, I just use the good ol' pencil tool and the occasional elipse tool. And if you hold down the alt button with the pencil tool it becomes a smoothing tool to get nice round edges.
Gumdrop- thanks! I remember trying to do pics like this when I was younger by actually cutting them out of board and construction paper and it took forever, Illustrator makes it a heck of a lot faster (and cleaner).
These are some really cool pieces today, DSG keeps getting better and better.

Mike that's awesome! Good job on the colors, good feel for it transitioning from warmer to freezing. Here's another one in my pen style.

Mike- the characters roughly translate to "the cold brings death strong pig" or so my translator tells me... I just like doing oriental characters, I guess the black and white pieces always feel asian to me for some reason. Macintosh computers come with a built in translator that translates english into about twelve other languages. It mangles most in the process I'm told.:D
