Spartan Camp #93 - 50 gestures + Optional Study of "Skin colour study"
The aim is to produce 50 gestures by Sunday the 28th of June.

- The gestures can be of anything, human, animal, cavorting capybaras.... You can draw full figures, but you can also go for heads, arms, eyes, or anything specific. All media can be used, both digital or traditional. Coloured or black/white. Quick scribbles or long studies. Imagination or referenced. Clothed or naked. Specifics are up to you!

- In addition to this, participants can choose to do an Optional Study of "Skin colour study", in any media.
Additional notes on this weeks’ Optional Study: Find good, natural looking reference! Colour, medium, time frame, any specifics are up to you.

50 poses is a challenge, but don't hurry or stress yourself reaching it! Focus on drawing, as practicing is the main goal of this exercise.

Critting each other is highly encouraged!! Share constructive criticism, reference and resources!! Let's help each other get better!

Here's my 50. : ) A great chance to start practicing men.

I started them late again and hadn't much patience anyway...
almost 50, as far as I know, animals too! and a more or less pathetic optional, 2 versions, I lazily played with colors and totally messed up the mouth. I drew a face, it was the easiest for me.

next week I'll have little time, we'll see, but then I come again, after another tiny holiday, full with energy (I hope)!

DKHutcheson; Welcome! Nice variety of studies and poses, good practicing! I've noticed those detail studies like noses and mouths are pretty good. Some of the torsos seem a little uncomfortable though! Perhaps something to look into. Try and achieve the same rounded, '3d' feel as with those mouths and noses. Nice job on adding some shadows. Are these referenced or from imagination? Good studies!
shiNIN; Nice to see some longer studies from you! Think those digital ones are pretty good. Especially the first. Like the animals too.
Skin colour seems to be tough for everyone, but portraits are a good practice. Think you did well on exploring those colours. The second has gotten somewhat fuzzy. Remember you can use hard edges along the more firm shapes. Like parts of the nose, chin, brows and forehead. It will help you define the form.

Anthis, They're all referenced from somewhere or another. No use studying what I don't know. x ) Don't want to be making mistakes and getting used to it.

Impressive gestures! On the skin color study, her features look dwarfed to the size of her head. Her nose looks rather yellow, but in general the skin looks nice. : )

shiNIN, The animal studies look great. Might want to focus on the leaping animal gestures, though the standing and sitting ones look great. : >

DKHutcheson: yeah, drawing _dynamic_ poses was always my weak point...
drawing animals are refreshing for me...

Anthis, I'm always so thankful for your words :) it's touching someone looks at my [I better not write any epiteton] things and tries to help me :) you're right about the 2nd color study, no excuse I just rushed it and bad with brushes anyway. next time I'll remember I mustn't smooth everything out...

I made my first gestures unusually early and miss the new topic :)

DKHutcheson; Good points on studying from reference. Couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks for your crits, especially on the color. It's not my strongest point due to a color deficiency.
shiNIN; No problem, I think it's important to guide and learn from each other. I've been doing some master studies and one thing I've noticed is that blending doesn't occur that much. You can use a hard round brush perfectly well. New topic is up now, should get more consistent.
