Whatever happened to Ruben?

I'm not obsessed with 'American Idol', but I have to say when I first heard Ruben Studdard (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000AGWGD/qid=1073063166//ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i0_xgl15/002-7189268-2546428?v=glance&s=music&n=507846) sing, I knew he was going to win. I even voted for him, and was glad he became the finalist. He's really talented and has an incredible voice; he reminds me of Luther Vandross.

Why, then, is his new album not getting any radio or video airplay? Is there a reason the semi-finalist Clay Aiken (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000AGWEC/ref=pd_bxgy_img_2/002-7189268-2546428?v=glance&s=music&n=507846) is getting more attention than Ruben? The viewing public voted for him, so why is the semi-finalist getting more airplay? Very odd.

I don't know why I'm talking about this in an art forum, but I just had to talk about it. Sorry.:)

moss667: First off, I don't know where the hell the "Americans watch too much TV." issue came from, because Cybercyst mentioned ----> a <----- TV show. How does that make him/her a TV junkie? And, if people want to post sob stories about former pop icons then they can. You just wanted to attack cybercyst because you consider your self anti-pop, anti-mainstream media, and/or "underground". Also, for you to know who Ruben is you'd probably have to watch TV. So according to your logic that would, obviously, make you a hypocrite.

I just meant that people should put down the remote from time to time and take out a pencil. I'm not saying that I am the most productive person on Earth, as I do watch T.V.
And also, I have never seen American Idol. Even if I never watched T.V. I would still know who he is, as too many people at my high school obsessed about that show when it was popular to.
I also never said they couldn't. I think we both just need to drop whatever hostility was brought up from my post :). I think I'll just delete it.

Mos, I give people credit and props where its needed. But, I'm not going to be like "OMG Crash! That is so funny! A woman giving a 'This thread sucks' a BJ!! OMG, dude you a soooo funny!" No, its inappropiate. I don't have to insult the guy, no I don't. Should I? Yes. What I said wasn't even that harsh, and he didn't deserve it. He deserved worse.
