Hello!

I wonder if I can use the SpaceNavigator as a color picker in Photoshop?

PS' color picker looks like this:

Could I use the SN to change the colors? For example if I rotate the SN I change the saturation or if I move the SN back or forward ich switch the color from red to orange?

By the way, that's a Space Navigator:

Would be a lovely feature if I can draw with my right hand with a Wacom and change my used colors with my left hand with the SN.

If a SN can't do this is there any other device which has that function?

Greetings,
Pipo

I don't think the SpaceNavigator can do that because it doesn't control the movement of the cursor. I use it for a few 3d programs but also for PS, especially assigning a button for Step Back! You probably know what it can do in Photoshop CS3 and CS4 (and Extended) but here is a link to a video demonstration for anyone who might be interested.

Oh, thank you very mutch for the link! I didn't know what functions it has.

But back to the topic: Especially because the SN doesn't move the cursor I thought it would be possible. In my case I move (=draw) the cursor with my Wacom pen and would like to change the colors with the left hand fluently.
I can change the brush size or opacity with the pressure sensitivity of the Wacom pen - directly.
Is there any device to do this (with the other hand) with the hue, the saturation and/or the value? That would be awesome.

Maybe it would work with the SN if somebody developes a PS-plugin for this funtction :-(
