Hello all, I've been pondering these questions for quite a while. Sorry if the answers are completely obvious, ha ha.

Demo Reels. Are they just for animators, or do, for example, illustrators, make them as well? Isn't it basically an animator's portfolio?

In animated films, are artists that don't animate (i.e. just draw one detailed piece based on something then move on to another piece) needed and wanted? I've read that animation companies want people who can draw, of course, and sometimes they hire people (for jobs or internships) who aren't familiar with animation. Does this happen often?

Is animation a good thing to learn if you want to go into the movie industry? It would be easier for someone with not much 3D experience to try 2D animation first, right? What programs are used for 2D animation? And would it be beneficial to go ahead and learn 3D animation?

Hm, I guess I have a lot of questions. I do hope this is in the right section.
