DSG 309: Environment: A coastal seaport

The environment is a seaport based on a coast, not along a river or lake. So this seaport would be heavily used, high traffic of large container ships etc. Could be futuristic, or from the past. Use your imagination. Tell us a story about this seaport.

I really wish i had more depth in the piece. I'm honestly not sure what the ships are suppose to be... cargo of some sort.

i hope to see some better entries soon, hopefully something will wet my appetit to try again.

btw great topic mtom!

My first post on conceptart i think and my first post in DSG.
So, it's a sort of futuristic underwater launcher, prepare itself for the next assault.

So as of now I am applying a new rule. No more saying that you suck. We are here to improve our skills, and by saying that you suck all the time, it doesnt help you to advance, nor does it motivate others to work harder

This is a rule in the DSG.
It may or may not apply to the rest of the board but its something good to follow anyways.

Not exactly a bustling seaport, heh heh. More like an abandoned seaport. Had some fun with this one, as well as some frustration.

This is my 30th DSG in a row. I no longer feel the need to keep my streak going, it's becoming a little counter-productive actually. I'm going to try and make as many as possible though. This is a great way to learn.

Take it easy, the idiot.

I really like yours Thrash. I wanted to do something similar only at night, but my ideas weren't coming out so well today. Oh well, off day.

The super-city of <insert cool futuristic name here> is the trade hub of the pacific, gigantic supertankers and haulers entering its gleaming covered gargantuan bays by the hundreds every day. Its citizens lived in comfort unknown to other lands, but were always wary of "the ball", the floating command center of the <insert cool futuristic name here> trade federation.

It fell every once in a while. Sucks for the island.

I hate rendering metals, and this was especially painful, allbeit educational. It isn't realistic, but it looks passable. Still not absolutely happy with it, but its late here and I need my sleep.

Ugh. At the in-law's this weekend, so I had to do my sketch in the car during my husband's turn to drive. It looks much better in person, honest, but there's no scanner here so I had to take a picture with my digital camera and upload that way... The flash kind of killed it.

Pardon the link, I don't have access to my usual webspace here either.
Today's DSG effort (http://www.geocities.com/twistedaesthetic/ship.html)

Anyway. Not very bustling, but I was thinking kind of slave-ports. Those were pretty busy once upon a time.

Went overboard on this one...4-5 hrs. Liked the concept though.

I think it's time I stopped faking and started studying real atmospheric pics to see what it does to the values. And start improving my brush strokes...and like composition...and ARRRGGGHHH

dfacto- cool concept, dude. Ahaha, that really does suck for the island tho

wednesday- wonderful colors!
