Hello! I've had an account here for a while, but am incredibly intimidated by all of you fine folk, and have refrained from posting a whole lot. I've wanted to make a sketchbook here for a long time, but my desire to improve has only just won out over my desire to go bury my head and not draw attention to myself. XD

My name is Noel. I'm 21 years old, and have been drawing since late 2001. I try to spend at least an hour every day doing some sort of art exercise; usually areas I want to improve in. I will try to update this thread when I have the guts. I would like to work my art up to a point where I think I can do full illustration pieces, which is something I think I am not able to do yet.

I have a lot to learn. Please help me be a sponge, and absorb it all!

Attached is today's daily. Most of my focus was on playing with the colours and planes of the face, and not the mane.

Hi there! Welcome! :)

I stalk noobs. :^^:

I love the colors of your lion. I have no advice to offer yet, though. Curious to see more from you and I hope you find what you need here. Let me leave you with a friendly warning: make sure you are personally persuaded that critique is good for you.

I don't understand your size question very well? Post in a size that is big enough to show detail but small enough to fit the page. I don't think posting the real size of the piece is a good idea.

Seriously with the way you were talking on livestream i was expecting you to be an awful artist. I see nothing wrong with this.

Once you show a few more drawing we will be able to figure out what you are lacking in and help you solve those issues.

I wandered back over to CA and discovered the CHOW section of the community activities. Since drawing people is my weakest point, I hope I can take part in CHOW often! I think there is quite a lot more I could have done to this to push it further, but I'm proud of it as is. I did learn tons, and will do better next time. (: I've also never painted in photoshop before, so that was even more exp. gained. +level up, yes?

Oh wow your CHOW is really nice.. the one thing I notice though is that the foot looks a little awkward and seems to have such a different temperature change seems really dramatic. Feet are really hard though, I look forward to seeing more

-sighs in envy-

I absolutely adore your CHOW entries and your overall style and creativity and everything. You're totally one of the people I look up to, so you better update with more paintings!

Oh, drat it @MajorTom! You're absolutely right.I have no idea what I was thinking. I suspect I must have colourdropped from the blanket at some point, unthinking, instead of the rest of her body. Thanks for pointing it out.

Thank you so much, @Faytez. That was a seriously sweet and kind thing to say, aww. My problem is that I draw and sketch things, and then forget about them and don't upload them anywhere.

I recently bought domain space for a website, and and working on a little painting of a deer to go on my layout. I'm only like... a quarter finished, but I thought I'd go ahead and post my current status on it, since I'm not sure when I can work on it again.

th are some small gryphon sketches. I've been doing 41 of them for a friend, small gestures and thumbnails and doodles. These 9 were the latest group.

Ive obviously been horrifically bad at keeping up with posting on CA, which is a terrible shame.

I've messed my arm up and am supposed to have it in a sling for the next few weeks. I can manage some short sketch sessions without overtaxing myself, though. Sketch for today, which I will hopefully come back to in a few weeks and actually paint~

You have very nice linework and your rendering is good too. Keep it up and get better! ;)

Haha, absolutely, pixel_cheetah. No where to go but up. :D

Thank you, Traveler! Me too, haha.

I am a horrible patient, and have been feeling the ramification of that the last few days. I'm afraid I let it bleed into this sketch a bit. I'm eager to get back to painting for real, ahh. As much as I love sketching, I'm not used to a single sketch being the maximum of my productivity for a day!

Very much drawn with Sunflower, the centaur from the ~uncensored~ Fantasia, in the back of my mind.

A speed-doodle from last night. I've been doing mostly really rough sketches since hurting my arm, and I've been missing colour something fierce.
