hey guys.. I always post all of my drawings in my sketchbook and its kinda annoying when a scan that I post doesnt look nearly as good as the actual drawing. My scanner has a tendency to add a veryyy light blueish hue to my graphite drawings as well as kill my contrast just a bit by dropping my blacks down a few shades. What can I do in photoshop to help my drawings look more "real" without doing anything that will make my stuff look better than it really is (I dont wanna be cheating with photoshop, I just want you guys to see exactly what I see ) thanks!

Scan in Grayscale, 300 to 600DPI, then set the levels so that white is white and gray is nice and clear. My raw pencil scans actually look miles better scanned than the real deal :D The type of tech in the scanner also helps, are you using an HP scanner? Their drivers aren't very pencil friendly.

Mess around with the levels (or curves if you're really finicky) to get your blacks back to correct. As for the color, you could always convert the color mode to grayscale. Or you could try to adjust the hue a bit (in hue/saturation, I think). That would fix that bluish tint your getting.
