I am looking for an artist to depict the scene described by Plato in his work The Republic, commonly refered to as "The Allegory of the Cave". For those who are unfamiliar with this, here is a link to a webpage where you can read the dialogue and understand what I am refering to:http://www.historyguide.org/intellect/allegory.html. I would like the scene to be realistic. Due to the nature of the scene, it is inappropriate to use a monochrome medium. I would like the artist to let me know what they have in mind with regards to what medium to use. I also encourage any artist interested to be creative and find an unique way to portray the scene (eg. unusual canvas dimentions, more than one canvas placed near one another, ect.) I am open to any suggestions that you may have.

If you are interested, send me an e-mail at kmmonforte@gmail.com, and give me a brief description of what your vision for the work would be, and direct me to a website where I can view your portfolio. I will respond to each artist to let them know if I am interested or not. If I am interested in moving forward with an artist, I will require a simple contract to be written up. Price will be negotiated when the specifics of the project are agreed upon. I will pay a deposit as well at the onset of the project. I look forward to hearing from everyone!
