I used to take part in thrice-quarterly critiques while enrolled in CSU East Bay's traditional arts BFA program. Now that I've graduated, I'm in need of a new source of feedback, and this place looks to be one of the better ones. I typically work in ink and watercolor, but I'm also very interested in digital work, especially digital painting.
Exposition aside, here's some digital paintings from an independent study I finished recently. Each was done within a time limit of three hours apiece. I alternated between Photoshop and Painter for the most part, but I occasionally used the same program for two sessions in a row.

My entry for ArtOrder's (http://artorder.blogspot.com) B&W Vampire challenge. Mr. Schindehette was kind enough to extend the deadline to today due to the drop-off e-mail account being shut down yesterday, so here's hoping I resubmitted in time!

It's been a while, so here's some new stuff!

The below image was started with a grisaille underpainting, but working from grayscale to color was a pain. I'm also thinking that the beefy lines I used on the figure would have been better served by a flat-color approach, both due to how...gah...the figure looks at present, and due to how surprisingly well the tiles came out. Oh well, let's hear it for learning experiences!

Nice start! You should do a lot more anatomical studies though...and gestures too! That'll really help with your poses. Keep it up!

@Jackpot - Thanks for taking the time to leave some feedback! I've got a Hogarth book lying around somewhere, so I should be able to post up a few studies within a week's time. Assuming I can find a place with enough people, I should have some pages of gesture drawings to post, too. I accept your challenge! </manly shogun voice>

I still haven't gotten around to doing those figure studies and gesture drawings that I promised in my last post, but they'll be done and uploaded one of these days (by the end of the month, perhaps?).
