BYEE.................................
davi
January 1st, 2004, 06:55 AM
1 : the 24th and last letter of the Greek alphabet -- see ALPHABET table
2 : LAST, ENDING
3 a : a negatively charged elementary particle that has a mass 3270 times the mass of an electron -- called also omega minus b : a very short-lived unstable meson with mass 1532 times the mass of an electron -- called also omega meson
base of a character on that.
and the dsg bot had a problem today... might have been the year change. y2k style error.

Not finished, but oh well - I knew everyone would be going for cool with this character, so I thought I'd go for the opposite. Kind of reminds me of slimer...
Guidance: If you could change ONE thing...?

Just got Painter. It has been awhile since I touched the tablet. Question concerning Painter: is sluggishness inherent in the program? My machine is up to par and none of my other apps drag. At low rez Painter is fine; however, initially I tried it at 300dpi and it turned into a real slug. I'm just curious if anyone has experienced the same thing.

Hey gang,
Cool schtuff, people!
I especially like Wednesday's (something totally cool about the pic), Railboy's, liquid's and Rho's.
I spent way, way, waaaaay too much time on mine today, but I *needed to paint*. So there ya go.
It's still not entirely done, as evidenced by her left arm and couple of other rough areas, but I needed a break.

woooow. Checked back to see what's posted and there's some AWESOME stuff today.
Wednesday: Cute idea. :)
Jeano: Scary. I like the armor.
nBT: I really like the colors.
sparky: Ick. They're really getting into that, huh?
Wednesday (again): Your style is so cool...
Railboy: Clever idea! It's definitely a different take, that's for sure.
jermainevl: I'd wondered if anyone would tackle that 'omega'. :D
liquid: Eew! <shivers> That's really gross! (in a cool way.)
jrr: The first thing that sprang to mind was 'orc hockey?'
Helzer: Loving the colors... And that pose...
Hanuka: Hee hee! Not inspired by personal experiences I hope...
Idiot_Apathy: I agree. Your take is just as interesting as all the rest.
Rho: Wow.
S51: He's so cute! ^_-
sticky: Why do I have this feeling that he's about to destroy something? I guess I don't trust cute...
Oregano: Wow, man. Just... wow. O_o Can you bottle some of that? Cuz... I'd buy it. ^_^
sabre: Great composition. I love the lights, and that scythe is too cool.
Wystro: Whoa! Creepy! Very cool.
avalos: I like the mood.
vfxart: Aw, come on. That's plenty good!
Good stuff, peeps! Can't wait for tomorrow! And happy New Year!

i need to get better at painting... big time...
avalos
January 1st, 2004, 11:58 PM
It was not intended to be the angel Moroni but rather to be loosely based off Spartan Hoplites (loosely...). If I misunderstood; it is neither based off of the style of the 16th century painter Giovanni Moroni nor the small east african capitol of Cosmoros, which is supposed to be quite lovely if one doesn't mind staying in one of the poorest nation.
Hope that clarifies things,
Avalos

I am up late and decided since I am finally back home I would do a quick one. I kept thinking of omega being the last, kinda like the last samurai (not the movie).
http://www.rockydavies.com/forreview/omega.jpg
Avalos-sorry, I thought it looked like a pic of Moroni, before he was an angel he was the very last of an entire race of people, the Nephites. They all got slaughtered in a great and final battle and some paintings of it depict Moroni like your warrior. I saw your pic and thought "how fitting for the topic of omega" Here's a link to one of Arnold Friberg's paintings of the subject http://www.lds.org/hf/art/print/picture/0,16989,4218-1-3-106,00.html
