Remember the scene in Jurassic Park when Muldoon discovers the Raptors had broken free from their Pen? This is a 're-creation' of one of those prints seen scattered around the pen that Muldoon started tracking.
I have sculpted it in clay (wet clay) and will start moulding it in quick setting alginate soon for casting in plaster. I plan to do several of these casts to lay down in the garden and create a diorama of an 'escaped' Raptor. Watch out Burglars!!! :)
As you can see, the clay right now is very wet. There's water collected in the dips which will give you an idea of what it could look like in rainy conditions. Once this has dried out a bit, I'll seal it and start molding.
UPDATE!
I have molded the print now and created my first plaster cast. I can do these in resin too, which might be better for outdoor conditions. Painting to do soon.
