Hey guys, here's my Newborn thread. I'm taking this contest VERY SERIOUSLY (:yayca:), since I think it means a lot for any artist to get this kind of publicity.

I'll be entering as many pieces as possible. I'll be putting all of the pieces that I finish here in this thread, along with my gallery. I'll try and post WIPs from now on, to get all the amazing feedback these forums have, and though this is pretty much done, I'd like all crits for anything and everything I post. I'd really appreciate it!

This first piece makes me happy, since I feel like it's the first finished piece I've done since "going digital" early this year. Hope you guys like it! :rocker:

This one: A mother-to-be awakens to a new life for herself.

Good start, but I would try to fix the perspective a little bit. Her right side looks a little wonky compared to the rest of her body.

I sort of like the skewed perspective, but the black outlines are a bit distracting as is the unfinished green liquid.

Actually, the perspective's pretty interesting. But I think that the right side should be evened out a little bit.

nice start and a good attitude for the contest :)
I like the concept, but it feels like you just stopped working on it--it doesn't feel finished. It looks like it has more potential than we're seeing. I think you just go in and really add some nice finishing details and a good polish to the whole piece it stands a pretty strong chance. :)

I'll start working on this asap, got some work to finish, and then I'll be able to get this started (again).

Her left (our right) shoulder being pulled forward should solve some of the weirdness I think. I am also considering adding more height to the picture, and fleshing out the background some more, along with making the lighting more dynamic. It might involve adding more room to the bottom as well, to give more emphasis to her stomach, and let the entire vat of liquid be shown...

Anyways, thanks for the comments. :)

Well, unfortunately I was working 16 hours a day for the past week, and needed a couple days to recover, but I'm still working on this. -_-

I was fiddling with the previous one, but I need to take a break from it and start a new piece.

Here are the first sketches, the idea being that Eve's birth from Adam's ribcage might not have been as painless as one might think. >:D

No critiques outside of the subject matter and perspective (etc), the line work isn't going to be there.

He looks pretty dead how he is lais there.
Maybe you should think about another pose for him, that shows that he survived that bloody act.

Or did he? :ninja:

Yeah, I'm still toying with it though. I've been hella sick, so I've mostly been sleeping and putting around doing nothing. T_T
