mino-jen thanks for looking and the nice words

Ok so here is my story for those interested.

I think "Newborn" can be a very difficult to interpret and to make an original and creative solution. So after my first thought of a Monkey King and his son, in which the King would get shot by poachers, make thing son a "newborn" king, get it? I thought it was pretty good, but lacked the visual idea for it.

Then I watched Eastbound and Down.

I came up with an idea of a white trash guy who could not wrap it up and show the downside to a "Newborn." Granted, it is kinda a literal interpretation of the topic, but if done correctly could be pretty cool.

This is what I have so far, the man silhouetted is the same guy in my last post, I really like how downtrodden I made him look. My idea for the top half is to have a whole bunch of kids making a ruckus, and have a couple of kids fighting as they are hanging the banner. But will this make it too busy?

Im looking help on:
composition
Top half background (stated above)
Mother's hair/pose (Im thinking more dramatic)

That's actually a really good idea.

Also, this is off-topic, but tremendous kudos for Eastbound and Down.

Spare a thought for me, I haven't seen either of those programs. What I'm getting from what you've done is a guy who's oppressed under family life.

If I'm right on that, check his arm proportions and give him more of a curve to the top of his head so that we think he has a chance of dealing with it.

Sorry, probably not much help, but, as I said, I haven't seen the progs, so maybe it's not relevant....
