A futuristic industry truck, with a box of chickens, the good thing is they're strong and are fairly fast, because in the future the world will be all wrong and full of pollution and war, so the truck has to be robust and heavily armoured, made for any type of terrain except water....
took 1 hour and a bit to do...the background i didnt do, i just did the truck for DSG...i'll consider doing a background sometime..

my first was far worst. If i am to tell you something is this.
forget about color.
forget about concepts.
you need to train and LEARN to draw and beat the shit out of any Manley or Foster or whoever - don't you want that?
so... stick to linework and DRAW FROM LIFE.
Pay MORE attention to what you do. STUDY STUDY STUDY!
Then you'll make the motha' of all trucks, and even if you use lensflares you'll shut all critics up.

Are you still here? Go .. you NEED to draw from live!

Well put Oblio,
I try to never forget where I started from. What we do is a very singular process. It’s wonderful to have these forum to get GOOD feedback and support. The thing that always strikes me most about the membership here is the pure love of creating art. That’s what constantly motivates me. Lets help that flourish.

Peace out
Dan

i just moved this to the sketches section, i don't think you need to repost something you already have shown in the other sections, espically the finished.

keep up the learning.

Dude, even my drawings look better! (or so my mom tells me)

But practise practise practise, and you will make the best truck that no one has ever seen before

Oppolus, being an artist ain't easy, and it is'nt all about drawing and painting either. You hang your ego out for all to see with every piece, and published work stays out in circulation. I cringe when I think of my early work that's still out there. A skill every artist needs is the ability to take critiscism, and separate good crit from bad. You've gotten both in reponse to this post, that's for sure! Later, when you deal with clients, you'll put his skill to the ulimate test- you're livelihood will be at stake! As for drawing, see if you can get hold of a book called Perspective Drawing by Ernest Norling. It's one of those big Foster art books and it's cheap- and a gold mine of information! Good drawing is the foundation all art is based on, but never stop thinking about fresh ideas and concepts. Learn to draw, and study painting as a secondary subject, at least at first! You'll go far. :)

As a note to ALL, think about how you'd like to be treated as you review the works of others. Bullies suck. :nono:

I think you did the colors very well but obviously the shape needs some work and studying those books on perspective and all that will make you look even better.

I like the smoke.

As for the rest, try to make it look more believeable. Build the truck inside a cube or box. Here's a link to the middle class perspective thread. Study it and apply. I haven't exactly learned how to yet, but i'm better then where I started.

yeah i agree with Mr. Teatime... in drafting class in school when we're not using CAD but drawing by hand we us the box method. its the easiest way to visualize the outcome i think and to maintain the perspective.

Come one, im sorry if I was being offensive, i wasnt really bashing your work man. Vorons right you know there really is some good advise here, to be honest me and my previous post is probably a couple of rungs lower on the food chain then the chickens in the back of that truck. It just reminded me of that one post in the ooohhs and aaahhs section.

Uber chicken flare. (http://www.visiblesurface.com/sketches/lensflarejoke.jpg)

I didnt really mean any offence, and good job for even getting that far with digital media (i cant really say i have).

In the future everything will be chrome, with lens flare.

But anyway, keep drawing and look at all the good advice on here.
