A pulp sci-fi angle could be really fun. Can't wait to see if that's where it takes you and what you do with it. Like the enegy in those sketches.

Thats a nice plumpy concept there bill, interesting two fingered creatures look like they are praising (or praying) the entire birthing process..It looks better on the slight angle too.

Its a shame that you have abandoned the last one it was looking very intriguing - it has truly alien look to it, it is both mysterious and not all cliched - it really stood out from the crowd as being quite different from most other entries - I hope you go back to it later and finish it! Having said that though I also abandoned my last idea as it seemed not to be coming together. Hope the next one goes better for you.

Good palette in this new one. I think you need to push the contrast in the shadow areas of the foreground, to really get that depth, but it's coming along nicely. The question is, what's hatching?

Totally idiosynchratic idea Pearlyking (which is a very good thing, by the way). Talking tones and colours - maybe knock the dark blue of that upper sky back a bit to bring the floaintg birth giver more pop? Just a first thought. Do ignore me as most do if it doesn't appeal.

Looking better. However, the shadow on the baby-thing and the, er, octopus thing need reconciling. The BT's shadows are lighter than the OT's, so it appears further away from the viewer when it's really the same distance away. Either the BT's shadows need darkening or the OT's need lightening. Or maybe half & half.

Also, the green guys don't appear to be looking at what's happening. Maybe this is intentional but if a multi-tiered octopus was extruding a giant green baby from a plinth I'd definitely be paying attention.

Looking good pearlyking. I think the colour of the sky is really saturated especially the top part of the work. Try to rdesaturate it down a bit.

Nice rendering on the pulp-aliens, although that diagonal shadow on the base of the plinth (just above the left guy's "finger") doesn't look right to me - should it be there?

With the egg image - will there be a creature flying off or something? At the moment it looks a bit empty.

Nice finishing on your first piece. You captured the mood of the environment pretty great.

For your second piece, I think the composition can be better but that's me. I find the egg placement can be more random. It feel a bit proper for me.
