So I've cooked up multiple ideas for Newborn. I don't think I'll finish even one of them, much less get a winning entry out of any of them, but I thought I would post some of my ideas.
#1: IT'S ALIVE
Is it bad that one of the first things I thought when I saw this topic was "God, this would make a good Frankenstein picture?"

#2: ASSEMBLY LINE
I wanted to do an assembly line making something beautiful out of raw material. Here's my second concept.

I like the assembly line idea and your way of getting it down. Maybe seeing some other parts being assembled rather than just the end result might be pretty cool? Just an idea :)

Your second concept is much better and stronger, You should stick with that. :)

hala: I'm probably going to stick with this concept. I've wanted to draw Frankenstein, but this idea speaks to me more.
pearlyking: That is a great idea. I tried adding some more to the concept.

I'm experimenting with a long shot of the android factory.
Basically, the image is going to look far taller.

Your style for the frankenstein image is very amusing :)
and good idea with the long shot of the android woman/women,
Can't wait to see how both of them turn out :)

#3 DoomBringer
I wanted to put a twist on the theme "Bring into this world". The idea here is that scientists have opened up a wormhole to another dimension, bringing a jellyfish-type monster into this world, so to speak.

#4: ROBOT NANNY
This idea is basically an almost ape-like robot protecting a small child from the dangers of the elements as well as monsters.
#5 EMERGE
Another more abstract concept. Again, I'm toying with the something ugly giving rise to beauty.
Also, I have another WIP of the Doombringer.

I did another WIP of the assembly line. I actually like the image a little better this way.

Who's working the machinery and who's waiting for her? Adding both could make it a lot stronger.

I probably won't be working on this for about 2 weeks. I won't have my tablet with me.

I'm back. And I've started on a new idea.

Someone else is doing the machines creating a beautiful woman idea too. Coincidence?
What is the new idea, too sketchy still and I quite don't get it? Big monster is looking at?

Yeah, probably a coincidence. Didn't even know about that idea until yesterday.
And yeah, my new idea is too sketchy. Basically, it's supposed to be a big monster watching its cub eat its hunt.
It's a little less sketchy now, though.

Another quick update.
I'm also testing out an alternate version of my assembly line idea.
This time, it's like a clone incubator.

I'm trying another idea, this time featuring an alien monster creating a planet. I don't know, I was listening to some Mastodon and Gojira at the time.

Some updates. Also, an idea for the birth of a goddess.

I had a brain fart. What if there was a mass of sea creatures coming together to attempt to bring a humanoid to life?

I updated the composite newborn. I also attempted a new composition for the fairy picture.
The story for the third new rough is that a mysterious alien fungus has assimilated a military base, as well as part of the Hazmat team sent to investigate it. The Newborns in question are the people who became infected by the fungus. They have been mutated by the fungus and are being controlled by a colony of the infecting fungus. It's a lot like The Thing.
I should probably make a new thread with some finished Newborn concepts.

I'm actually painting with a tablet. I'll definitely try to start painting with softer brushes.
I don't actually know what happened to that one. I was on vacation for a few weeks and I never really looked back on that piece.
