Hi,
Just today, I went into my tool presets menu to find that they had been replaced by the default presets! (I don't know how it happened-- I certainly didn't consciously do anything. Another odd thing is that my brushes were left untouched.)
Thinking PS might have crashed in some weird way where presets were concerned, I went to load my backup file of all my presets, but even though the dialog box comes up asking me whether I want to replace and append, nothing happens after I try to load them.
Now Photoshop does acknowledge their existence. The names of my previous preset files are in the drop-down menu. But nothing happens when I tell PS to load them!
By the way, I tried rebooting my computer, and pasting the backed up preset file in question into my tool folder under the Photoshop folder in program files.
Now, it is a large file, around 16 mb. Is it possible it doesn't want to load a tool preset file that large?
Restoring these is REALLY important to me, because I save all of my brushes in "preset" form. I can't really work right without them.
