I appreciate your style. It strikes me as very similar to the drawings and and watercolors of J.R.R. Tolkien.

I love your style! Kinda reminds me of the intricacy and freedom of Spike Milligan - who I love. I can almost hear the water thundering down on 'At the end of the world'.

Cheers Anthro, glad to hear that, especially since people been telling me the water looks like stone clifs!

"The woodland hall was being prepared for the big feast, thralls and prisoners from the whole empire were nailed to the ancient trees and ten unicorns where decapitated and drained of blood to create a shiny magnificent path leading up to her throne.
On the Queens spectacular arrival the head of Nils, elf prince and protector of all thats good and beutiful where to be spiked on the throne to celebrate the defeat and extinction of his fathers kingdom Thol"

thanks for stopping by my SB, all you're chow and EOW stuff is awesome, I'd be scared to see what you'd do after getting the hang of digital tools. keep it up man, I'd reccomend drawing from landscape photo's as much as possible to build a kind of reference library in your brain for drawing these. Most important thing though, just stick with it.

your drawings and lines remind me a little of art Nouveau stream. Keep it up!

Metal: Cheers, I just bought a wacom tablet so workin on the digital part, its way harder to get the hang off then I first thought tho. But ye landscape drawings to create a ref library is a v good idea, Ive been afraid Id lose my own personal style if I were to draw to much from rl but thats probably just an excuse to be lasy.

conga: Thanks, love art nouveau shiz!

Helt fantastiska blyertsteckningar, dina miljöer skapar verkligen känsla och stämning.

vore grymt att se någon av miljöerna målad!

I like the way you draw the important elements as just little details in the huge environment, there's a lot of good use of empty space here! It kind of leaves room for the viewers imagination. I hope you'll do some studies to fatten your bag of tricks too.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

darknight: Thanks alot, I pop into youre sketchbook now and then. Im a big fan of youre fantasy, really stylish and fine use of colours. Youre snow environments are extremely good. Ill be sure to leave a post nex time.

Anton L: Im pretty shit with digital colouring atm, Ill try to improve there or get some water colouring goin (long time since I used em). Varför skriver jag på engelska? aja, nu är meningen klar så!

Smuli: Id really need some studies but I find it so strange to draw from reality, I never do anymore.

Heres a sketch for the new IDW, some sort of gigantic canon creating livable planets;

I love your work - it has a really unique feel to it, especially the graphite stuff. Keep going with the digital, ti takes a while to get it after trad stuff I think!

I can see your work illustrating spooky kids stories - it would be superb.

your mind.. the dimension your transfer is really outstanding man.

keep it up! I would suggest you to use colours on layers below your drawing-layer after you made the white of the drawing transparent..

or stay black and white.

and do more anatomy studies! it will improve everything.

Wonderful sketchbook, I like your style a lot. What are your influences?

Ragnj
November 27th, 2010, 04:30 PM
Thanks alot Vulgar. Id say its a little bit of everything, in my younger years (and still) I was into alot of comicbook artists like Todd McFarlane and Simon Bisley, nowdays I think I have widened my horison and find inspiration in anything interesting, to many a people and things to start typing down!

Maybe we can work on something sometime, I've been wanting to collaborate with an artist on CA for a long time since I've been on here. Your style and my writing share intriguing similarities. Would you be interested in doing a comic strip or an illustration to a story?

"The Dark Tower of Nazri. Often called the "flying fortress" because of the illusion of soaring the wild clouds surrounding it creates. Theres a myth that theres a passage on the clifwall leading all the way to the top, but it was forgotten ages ago and none been brave enough to rediscover it. Nowdays the only known way to get to the Dark Tower is by balloon or the trendy floatserpent."
