Newborn: Humanities Beginning

Hi everyone. I have plenty of time with no excuses not to enter.

I will show all my workings due to the contest been about the thoughts behind the piece as well as how well it was made. I hate showing my idea generation because of the presentation, but I guess only I can read it, MHHUAHAHHAA *splutter* *cough*

I make a post directly after this one. I'll save this one for updated WIP's and hopefully the final.

I've working out some ideas and such and thought it would be a good time to show them.

1: Sketchbook spread 1. These were my first thoughts when looking at the Newborn brief. This is my way of a brainstorm.

2: Sketchbook spread 2. Now that I had an idea I wanted to pay around with objects in the scene and quick compositions.

3: Sketchbook spread 3. First composition I quite liked. Also some quick character ideation's of alien, adam and eve.

4: Sketchbook spread 4. Background spaceship designs. Also some quick studies of how Adam and Eve will appear in the scene.

5: Alien design 1.

6: Alien Costume design 1.

7: Alien colour pass 1 in photoshop.

8: Composition and value study pass 1.

Here is an update to the painting. Going back and forth with value rendering, colour studying, and line work to find the right look for this.
