Creature Concept (revised)

I got some of the Feng DVDs for Christmas. Thought I'd try a creature concept for once.

You are lucky those things are expensive anyway ya know what I Hate?..Post with no replies!!! I hate that shit..look at it say something and get on with it..
I like your drawing I'd personally like to see more use of highlights on this particular piece and may be a little more use of your grey markers if your going to go this route..overall Its a cool pic and I would'nt want to run into that guy anywhere...animal anatomy is'nt as easy as it seems..you pulled it off well good job Joe :chug:

Thanks for the reply. The stuff that doesn't need critiques get the replies. Yeah I'm working on pushing the contrast. This is drawn in prismacolor and colored in photoshop. I fixed the shadows too but I don't have an update yet. IF you drop a line down from the sword you'll see that the ground shadow for it goes too far out.

A few things jumped out at me. First of all the front foot closest to the viewer should be just slightly larger than his front right foot. Either that, or his right front foot should be smaller. This is, of course, based on the assumption that they are intended to be the same size. The left front foot also looks to be turned in too much. One other thing that caught my eye was his belly. It might be a little too big. I might take it up a bit and expose the idea of that back right foot to give just a little more solidity. Just a thought. Those DVD's are great aren't they? Take care.

I completely agree with you kid. I think I always have an idea of whats wrong with my stuff I just need others to go "yeah we notice that mistake and you're not getting away with it. Thanks a lot you all. The Feng DVD's would be really awesome even if there was no sound to them. You can learn a lot by just watching.

Obvioulsy there are details to be attended to. For work inspired by a DVD, that is good. I can see the Feng influence in it.
