Justin Gerard completed this illustration recently for Portland Studios. Personally, it's one of my favorites that he's done. What do you think? Any thoughts on the rendering? The colors, etc.?

Here's a second one that he did as a promo for the studio. What do you think? What about the boy's face? The fur?

You make me feel sorry for that fish, and I hate fish! :D But seriously, the first image is absolutely excellent. As for the boy's face in the second image... I don't know. I would think that a giant kowalla and butterfly would generate a little more wonder and surprise from a child. I don't know what Justin was going for, so I can't say too much. But the boy's face seems a little out of place to me. The image as a whole looks beautiful.
tell Justin great job! I wish you all would post more often!

These are some really nice pieces. The first one is terrific.:)
The second one is nice, but imo the koala and kids head is a tad on the big side. I know it has cartoony qualities to it, but it looks odd. Also, I think it'd be cool if the koala was also happy to see the butterfly, instead of having that non chalante look on his face.
Great pieces!

o_O very wow rendering in the chef.. but the fish is more cell-like shading .. feels like a cut and paste stuff
Also i feel a sarcasm in the apearance of the fish (nemo got fried? ) ..
the 2nd one is amazing . not to add beside what already was told

I think the boy's face fits fine, like he has been there a while but is still in awe of his surroundings
