Hi~
I stumbled onto this forum (actually, while I was searching for info on concept art, it was the first google link I clicked) and I have to say amazing job in terms of the wealth of knowledge people are bringing to the table, and the very apparent enthusiasm.
With that said, as the title of this thread reveals, I'm in fashion, and I want out. I realized that it's not fashion design I enjoy, but the conceptualizing and the drawing; I want to take this a step further and try to see what else I can do in terms of concept art, but after drawing nothing but fashion figures for so long, I have to admit, I'm not that good at anything else.
Long story short, I've been practicing and utilizing as many of the tips and tricks in the different books, websites, references, posts, etc. on this forum, but I think I would still benefit immensely from having some kind of technical training. Is there a place for someone who already holds a liberal arts degree to skip the fluff and get this kind of training? At my skill level, I believe ateliers and graduate programs are kind of out. I don't need a degree necessarily, just a place where someone can help me develop the skills I need to catch up.
I know I can learn on my own time, but I would like some help. I believe it's been said already that what you get out of classes depends completely on yourself and your work ethic, which I completely agree with, but at the same time, since the resources are available to me, I would like to couple independent learning with the benefits of training.
Thanks guys :)
