2nd - 28th wing: So cute, you captured the mood of the busker, and the rendering of the rust is lovely, all works really well together.

Thanks for the votes I have received - it's always very encouraging.

Nice work everyone - as usual I like them all.

first place - The Antarctican - vibrant colors, and nice line work. I'm always impressed with your style in these challenges.

second - artina - I like the metallic look of his limbs, and the "texture" brush used for his torso, head, and lower legs. Nice work on the folds of cloth, and the theme. Perhaps a bit more life in his eyes?

Third-Trashy - Something unique in what you've come up with. I really enjoy the color, the little wind-up key on the back, and the robots wacky look. Great work.

Others I loved:

Monstertree - This was an awesome piece too - I like the little curls on his body, and the perspective. Very toy-like.

Justice Von Brandt - very original. Nice mechanical components. What's the story with the robot deer? I'd like to know this.

GRMC - excellent. Good anatomy and speed. They both look like they're having a blast!

cocou - eye-catching pinks and orange. Funny and simplistic.

Tommoy - wow - very good concept work here. Professional grade in my book - kind of what I think of when I think robot.

Marcus Welby - I was very tempted to vote for this one. Beautiful pink glow and nice "come hither" shape ;).

Freddy Dark - Is it the arch nemesis of superman? Why does the robot have a mask when it clearly is not human? However, very interesting and nice color usage. Maybe more flames from it's engine.

Nadiamoon - I liked the art deco bot you had in the works. This is very nice too - looks vaguely alien.

1) Artina - Great hommage that you've rendered very cleverly. This wins for me on all levels: Concept, style, colour, the finnish, the subtle humour. It's very good and visually clear. Great work yet again. Profound!

2) Artiphats - The chrome is so beautifully rendered on the Robot and the Robot dog. My one quibble if I may is the background, the greens are a bit harsh and they take you away from the robots but that's like a very minor minor quibble (promise). The robot design is superb, the sense that it can function mechanically is key and I like that you've considered that. Doing a robot is hard enough but placing him on a bike is even harder. Very nice design!

3) 28thWing. Wow! Great colours. Amazing realisation of rust. The robot design is original too, which is great and unusual to see this kind of subject matter given a painterly feel. Which is refreshing. I love the way you've created expression in the face by using irregular shapes. Very clever work.

And in no particular order.....

Dreygus - A good stylized concept. Nice to see an animal robot too. I was so close to giving you a third place (sorry I didn't) as your piece is actually 'Stylized' so I felt I owe you a point, but there's so much going on with peoples ideas this month. I am sorry. I do adore the sense of wonder with your birds off in the distance too. It feels very dreamy. The patterns in the sky evokes myth which i like. Great work Dreygus.

GRMC - I adore the concept of a robot that you can sit on and control. The pose is strong and energetic too and I like that you're comfortable with your design so as to include motion blur. A very meaty looking robot in design too. Great teeth!

Trashy - Sweet sweet fellow. The concept is actually very charming. Why should a robot be all complicated?! You're bang on. A wind up egg style is maybe the simplest but most functional notion going. I love the style. The overbite teeth crack me up!

Tommoy - I swear I've had dreams of a robot like this attacking a town and vaporising everything in it's path. Nice work. Would have loved a little more finnish on this the structure of this robot is truly menacing.

Sony - Refined and stylized. It's an interesting concept. Did you do this in Illustrator ? If you did I actually think this is a great piece of work. You had some good works in progress too which were nicely finnished as well.

SAmkaa - Very cool! Funny and clever. The robot is nicely visualized too. The apron is great! I like that alot. Would have loved it to be a little more stylised in finnish but that's just me. The energy in his movement is spot on!

Nadiamoon - It's a great design! The upper torso and head is brilliant and mechanically 'feels' solid and menacing, i'd have like to see a less than 'front on' angle just to see more of his structure but it's a superb Robot. Your others were good also.

Monstertree - Oh this is CLASSIC 50's robot at it's best. Why ever didn't you do more of him so we could see below his waist. I REALLY want to know what kind of legs he would have? Or would he have tracks for feet, or wheels or a spring whatever?! I love this, and the colouring is lovely but I can't help feel that a giant foot should be stomping over a building! But it's a classic look and a fun feel to the whole peice. I really liked this right down to the dial on his chest. Nice imagery man, really nice!

Marcus Welbey - Very Chris Cunnigham. Pure sci-fi feel with the lighting actually. Y'know now I think of it you really have a knack for evocking a mood with your lighting. This really feels modern in design. This robot feels very alive because of that 'over shoulder' stance. And the spark plug blind! Brilliant. Ha!

Macaruba - Exceptional pencil skills mate! How do you control those lines! Given you were on holiday and knocked this up is amazing. I kinda would like to see this fellow realized further as the red in between his skeletal structure is intrguing me. As ever though pal, funny concept :D

Justice Von Brandt - WOW!!! Why do I think of David Lynch's Erazerhead when I look at your design!? It's crazy brilliant, and so utterly 'out there' that I find it strangely compelling to look at. Interesting work and unique. Wonderfully Bizarre!

Freddy Dark. Unusual not to see your whole canvas filled with imagery - but this works none the less. Sinister and strangely menacing. I love the finnish on the arms. Great details but I wish you'd had more of the robot and less of superman.

Great month once again from all. Congrats!!!

Oh and thanks for all the votes and kind words of encouragement too.
Cheers

My votes for this round:

28thwing: My favourtie entry for this round. I love the look of the robot, from the pose and expression to the textured, old, rusty look to the body. I also like the atmosphere and feel/mood the piece has as a whole.

artina: Another great entry, I liked the whole message behind this as well as the design of the robot. The whole finish on the robots body is great, I really like the texture of the blue/green bits.

The Antarctican: Another great design, with clean linework and a really nice finish. I love the steampunk look of the robot, and he's cute :)

Great round to all who took part, there's some really nice robots here!

monstertree: I really liked the retro look and style to yours. The only reason I didn't vote for you was because I felt your scene was missing something. I think it could have done with some fleeing people in the city area.

Dreygus: Really liked the concept. A good original take on the theme!

Here are my votes in order

1. The Antarctican - Tiq Taq - 1901 - Amazing character lovely colour pallet and excellent detail, Winner!
2. Artina - The Creation of Android - Excellent idea, painted very well with lovely textures, Mick would be proud!
3.28th Wing - Guitar Cyborg - Great character, shadows, colours and cool idea to have music for the voice.

Monstertree - Botzilla - Great dramatic scene, nice muted colours and shadows
GRMC - Biker Giant - Good lively feel with this with use of blurs, nice expressions and general idea
Tommoy - Skybot Attack - This looks like your bag. Great drama, distance and colours. looks sort of messy but crisp at the same time!
Nadiamoon - Armorbot - Amazing drawing and depth, too static though.
Justice Von Brandt - Dearbot - too many photographic elements in the layers here, the roughed up textures are nice though, I like the animal/machine contrast too.
Dreygus - Birdbotic - I like the idea, lots of work has been put into this one, although too many styles have been crammed into one piece of work
Marcuswelbey - Ladybot - Nice curves! Great complimenting colours
Artiphats - Balloon Partybot - Looks like loads of work has gone in to this some nice textures.
Sony - Lighter Buddy - A really unique take on this theme, the colours seemed weird for a robot, finished with nice gradients.
SAmkaa - Waiterboid - nice character and simple design could have done with a background setting maybe
Gnahz - Super Scary Muncherbot - Nice idea, I just think there needs a touch more depth
Freddydark - Super-fiend-bot - great concept is this a brand new DC villan? More time sharpening the detail would have made this even better
Trashy - Wind and Gobot - This is one strange idea the paint daubing looks a bit messy
Cocou - Here Comes The Hammer - I like the sketchy feel could have done with a touch more finishing and detail.

Cheers
