Spartan Camp #90 - 50 gestures + Optional Study of "Long pose study"
The aim is to produce 50 gestures by Sunday the 7th of June.

- The gestures can be of anything, human, animal, cavorting capybaras.... You can draw full figures, but you can also go for heads, arms, eyes, or anything specific. All media can be used, both digital or traditional. Coloured or black/white. Quick scribbles or long studies. Imagination or referenced. Clothed or naked. Specifics are up to you!

- In addition to this, participants can choose to do an Optional Study of "Long pose study", in any media.
Additional notes on this weeks’ Optional Study: Pick a good reference image and focus on an in-depth anatomy study. Colour, medium, time frame, any specifics are up to you.

50 poses is a challenge, but don't stress yourself reaching it! Focus on drawing, as practicing is the main goal of this exercise.

Critting each other is highly encouraged!! Share constructive criticism, reference and resources!! Let's help each other get better!

:muscle: Come on soldiers! Flex those muscles!! :muscle:

Great rewriting of the brief, Anthis. Thanks. :-)

Here are my first gestures of the week (some posemaniacs added for variety):

Have been fiddling with a Frazetta master study for a while and finished it this week. Realized I could crop and post it here, at it shows some different muscle groups and such. Have begun another study, not sure how far I'll get before the week's over. Will try to post a WiP anyway by the end of the week.

Mindbendermind; Wow, that's a pretty good optional study. You should do that more often. Take just a little more time to really analyze a pose. Quick poses are great for learning the general shapes, proportions, weight and all that. But the problem I'm noticing with myself is that I actually 'skip' a lot of the anatomy just because I'm doing quickies. Not sure if it applies to you though, just thought I should mention it. That one's from Frazetta? Another thing to add to my inspiration list. Nice going, try to let your lines follow the shapes.
Nice gestures, your choice of reference gives you a lot of variation. What medium are you using though? It looks like some sort of pen tool.

Hi and thanks. Beautiful optional. I have actually found that 90 sec is too short to draw from those masterworks. I believe I should stick to the posemaniacs when using time limit and draw the master studies untimed.

Yes, I used the pen tool in ArtRage. Previously I used the pencil tool, but then I had to press so hard against the tablet or the line would be barely visible. Since I've been recommended to draw with pen for accuracy practice I figured I'd do it here. Much more relaxed - but harder, since every little mistake is more visible. :-)

These should have been posted yesterday, as they were made last week:
