Just wondering: Any artists going to CG Con 2009 in July?

(It's a con (a la Siggraph) dedicated to Digital Painting, Animation, Modeling, etc.)

I'm really thinking of going-- the speakers look great, and I'd really like to talk to some studios at the job fair. The pricing isn't too bad compared to Siggraph, especially with the student discount + 25% off discount code (CGTG25) they're offering. The only thing I'm worried about now is the cost of the flight and hotel. :/

I'm pretty excited about Ryan Church being there, as well as a bunch of the animators such as Anthony Wong. I'm hoping to go to Siggraph too, but this seemed a little less overwhelming compared to Siggraph.

I'm still trying to convince my company to sponsor me. The lineup looks amazing -- Scott Robertson, Neville Page, Andrew Jones. I've got a friend going but he's going to be in the modeling/animation lectures.

I hope you get to go! They're offering an even better discount now-- maybe that'll help convince your company:

It's about a month away and I can't wait. I've never gone to a convention like this before, so I'm really excited. I've never been to LA either, so that's another added bonus to this adventure. :D
