How about making a banner like the rest of the weeklies?

yeah a banner would be a sick thing to design, tho teen challenge would be hard to make into one imo,
and i am new too all this and was heaps edgey on making an account because i was unsure that i would be able to participate in the comp seeing i dont actually own any drawing programs, sure i downloaded the PS cs3 and 4 trials but are ppl allowed to enter with just a pencil drawing?> or does it have to be done on a program such as PS or painter? coz i saw some ppl entered watercolours and the such,
in other words someone needs to write an intro to the section stating wat mediums, styles and how complete the image has too be for a final work, coz i am sure theres probably like 100 or more kids wanting too enter but to unsure of wat is acceptable,
next topic i am in for sure, but its gonna be pencil

Was thinking the same thing K, would give the teen challenge a much more professional approach.
And also, good to have ya back, looking forward to your work

Why doesn't the next topic be for the banner?
It's not hard to do, no admins needed or anything..

When you say 'banner', you mean like this one for CHOW right?- http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii293/chowarchive/CHOW-LINES/CHOW-LINES-MEDUSA.jpg
Well I think that's a great idea!

i think they meant that version of banners and adding a badge ie :medusachow: so that ppl actually get something out of this comp, something tangabley visible so ppl know that they are actually good

And also a banner like the chow one showing all the rules etc and the winners. For some reason the idea of having a thuumbnail of your piece for everyone to see makes people work much harder :P
And yeah Lets see if the next topic can be a banner

I've been doing some thinking about the banner idea, and frankly, I'm not seeing it happen. There is no other weekly other then CHOW that has the banner, and its for a reson.
Thumbnails.
The CHOW is for characters, and characters only, a face could be used as thumb for the simple reson its identifable, the thumb there could make it easy to distinquish wich round it was, and who made it. Since the Teen Challenge has a lot of different subjects and genres, would be tough for some weeks to make a good thumb.
And when it was a rule to make a thumb, no-one made one.
However, one like COW or IDW seems more feasable for this challenge. 1 'big' picture. A mascot sort of speak. I've already got an idea for the topic. However, i was thinking of Making topic for the mascot in round 74. And the next one at 100 (26 challenges = 1 year).
What do you guys think of that?

i think the banner should be something about youth, maybe it should be a children or a sports ball, something like that, dont you think?

My thought for a theme for the banner, could be "Prodigy"... maybe post it for a future challenge...
as for thumbnail it's a good and awesome plan!
but yeah... the only thing that came to mind was a zit... so irrunno... maybe start a whole single topic for specifically the 'symbol for teen challenge'
(sports ball IMHO is a bad idea, a bit too focused on something other than art (perhaps a crayon :P)...

Any more ideas for specific type of rounds?
Tried the Design Briefs but they didn't seem very popular, maybe the topic choice was too restricted

ANGER
whenn we as artists are upsset or pissed of alot of us paint with realllly loud music on and we dont give a crap about anything else thats going on. You end up cutting the bullshit and just going for it.
so yeah thats my suggestion

I think some of these themes would work:
FURRY FRENZY
PESKY PEST PROBLEM: a pest that just wont go away
GENETIC JUMBLE: take two or more creatures and combine them! Oh the combinations!

I think we should have a badge like the CHOWs, i know its been said i'm pretty sure but like theres no real "prize" and if there was i'm sure more people would join thinking like, ooh i want one of those purty things :3
As for topics...
hmmm
Ninja Pirate Cat!

+ Ninja
But seriously, I've got a real idea! MAN BEAR PIG!

I was wondering if Teen Challenge could have a spot on the main page like all the other weeklies? I know a lot of people have no idea Teen Challenge exists, and just stumble upon it randomly while searching through the forum.

Eh, question, When the Badge is chosen, do the earlier winners get one or would it take too much time to go back in the archives and give the winners one? I have no idea how much work it is btw.
Nibras
August 6th, 2010, 02:04 AM
Hey Ludic, it take some time to award them and because I only have mod powers and not admin it has to go through a couple of people so I've awarded everyone who's won from the time I've started with TC which is from around 80-something. The badges should show up soon :)

Hello, just a quick question: is this challenge is open for "teens" (<20) only? Am I too old with my 21 years? :D Thanks!

hello can i really know what is the age limit here.THANKS=)

June 2nd, 2011, 03:48 AM
I think we should make the challenge perhaps up to 23 years or so, that way many more people could join, its just, im not sure whether that would completely defeat the purpose of this challenge. Acctually it probs would. nvm :)
